Love the original, but this game has issues

Regarding the REF problems mentioned, I have seen it before but not when avoiding any attempt at sinking REF ships. The problem may stem from the random composition of REF forces--not enough ships built. Last time the king failed to send over remaining troops I opened world builder and gave the king more ships. This solved the problem and the game could be finished.
