CivilizationIV.ini; CivIV from App store
I know there have been many forms looking for this file, but after trying every route suggested I still cannot find this file. I don't know if it's because it was purchased from the App Store, or if there is a different location I'm missing. I am running on a MAC.
There is no civilization folder in my documents, that route is completly gone for me. I tried searching it in the spotlight, it found nothing. I right-clicked on the icon to show package contents, and I still cannot find it. I found some .ini files in the mod folder, but nothing else. Is anyone else having this issue? Thanks. |

I'm on a Mac. The .ini file is in the CIV folder in Documents or the BTS file in Documents, depending on which one you want. However, I am using a disk based game. Over in the Mac Forum, AlanH has observed that the version that comes from the App store is entirely different structurally from both the one you get from Aspyr's direct download purchase and from the one on disk. Based on that, if the folders are not in the Documents, then I would suspect that you will find them somewhere in your ~/Library folder. I suggest using Spotlight to search for folders with Civilization in the name and look in any that show up in any of the Library folders. If that fails you, ask over in the Mac Forum. AlanH knows a good deal about the various Mac versions of CIV.

Hey thanks, it unfortunately had no files in my library or documents and the spotlight just brings up the "autorun" icon. I'll have to give the Mac Forum a shot, I wish they just used the same structure as the disk.

I don't know if you're still looking, but the App Store version seems to make a lot of files and folders invisible for some reason which means that Spotlight can't find them.
You should try something like File Buddy and search for them using that with "find invisibles" turned on. |
