Can't Gain Ownership of Conquered Barbarian City
I ran into this playing Orbis, although I don't know that it is specific to that mod. There is a barbarian city very close to one of mine but on the other side of a mountain range. The city can only be reached by ship or climbing the mountains. Once I had animal handling I sent 3 rangers over there to check it out. The odds were so good that it was nearly an automatic victory, so the rangers attacked. They killed all of the units in the city, but when they moved in it remained barbarian. I didn't get any gold for taking the city and I can't set the production there. In all aspects, the city appears the same as it did before the rangers attacked, except there are no barbarian units present. I even tried moving all of the rangers out and then back in, but to no effect. Any ideas? Comments?

Probably something specific to Orbis, it's a fairly different mod from base FFH.

I'm guessing Orbis-specific, too... do your rangers have the hidden nationality promotion?

Are you playing the Svart and / or CoE? Do your rangers have hidden nationality? Units with hidden nationality cannot capture cities.

you are sure that you don't have the "hidden nationality promotion" ?(the one with the skull and bones)

Perhaps. It's been some time now. I did run into a situation in the same game where I conquered a city and gained a couple of workers in it, but not the actually city. My troops could enter, but I didn't control it. I "retired" the two workers and the game then let me conquer the city using the same unit as before. Actually this kind of thing has happened a few times.
