Making natives give up their settlements

Hey guys,

I was wondering about something. What's the best and fastest way to flip / poof native settlements peacefully? I want the natives to give up their settlements without a fight. It happened to me a couple times but when I try to do mex liberty bell production for culture / border expansion, it pisses off the natives and they refuse to give up their settlements.

How do I make them do it?

I'm not sure. Some natives seem more willing then others. I've noticed that having a strong military is essential for ensuring most of them flip. Even if the native is not annoyed, if you have no troops, they'll often declare war.

Usually the natives abandon their settlements even before you surround them with your culture. In my previous games natives have been no problem, but in my latest game where i am doing some crazy expansion - it seems that after i forced one native tribe out of the game (they just abandoned their last settlement), the rest of the natives have stopped abandoning their settlements and stay where they are.
