Worst thing about Civ...

... is finding that one single tile in your core that isn't being used by a town.

... is realizing it's 5 AM, the sun is coming up, you have work/class at 8, and you never did work on that project you were supposed to have done.

I'm sure that's never happened to anyone...

...is being so focused on a peaceful builder Space game that you completely forget that having some sort of military presence is nice too, and you have managed to tick off a lot of people somehow via diplomacy over the years, so they DoW on you in the Modern Age, and you've got barely anything to defend with.

Those people are not tR1cKy's neighbors. At least not for long . . .

Having such a hard time to get leaders without modifying the game. Which, of course, I do.

...is ignoring your wife, who is wearing a new negligee and holding two wine glasses, on your wedding anniversary, while you attempt to build Sun Tzu's Art of War on her laptop in the hotel suite with the Jacuzzi for two. ("Yeah, baby; I'll be right there. Hold on a bit.")

In most states this is not considered grounds for divorce, but it a valid reason for justifiable homicide, especially if the jury is all female.

As you are still alive, Commando Bob, we can only assume that you either 1) did not do something so foolish, or 2) that your wife also is a Civ Fanatic, or 3) possesses an inhuman amount of self control.

And I am not sure if you would need an all female jury to get an innocent by justifiable homicide ruling.

Or discovering that by adding a Fish Pond resource, the Aztecs now have an immense supply of food to produce a massive Level 3 city in the middle of a desert.

i would add a further hypothesis: 4) she's actually a Cylon (not necessarly a bad thing, expecially if you got the number 6 which is as hot as hell; the bad side is that they might be plotting a global nuclear holocaust).

Spending your time at work focused more on how you're going to fight that 2 front war and if you should head towards flight or motorized transport first.

Well, I haven't done them all at once. And C3C was banned from her laptop from Day 1.

It would be nice having nuke bombers and artillery pieces, also battleships with nuclear rounds.

My major gripe is that IBT can take an age (5+mins) on a huge map.

I get annoyed when I have a settler and am a tile away from where I want to build a city and notice that the enemy has a settler and is going to beat me to the spot

That pretty much boils down to a matter of CPU speed, how many civilizations are still on the board, is it a Pangaea map or continents or water map, how much roading has been done, and how many harbors and airports are there. Also, in the early stages of the game, how many barbarian camps are on the board.

If you are playing on a huge map, but with a limited number of civilizations, the game turn time is not bad at all.

How disappointing multi-player is. There are SNES games with better multi-player options.
