Here's one from an AoI game I was playing. I was Germany, and had taken over New Granada. I built a Scout Blimp for the heck of it, and used its recon (Range of 6) I was able to recon Washington, although the recon zone was 6.

The experienced player will recognize the situation immediately, but those still in the learning curve may find it interesting:
We're a religious civ, therefore we're perfectly happy with Anarchy

Actually, this was intentional. When PTW came out, they added the cannon with no man with it, and then added the man along with Conquests when it came out. You can see the two different units, one with one without, if you go digging in your unit folders.

And my tribe is . . . drum roll . . . Nil? What happened to Korea? And here I thought all that talk about them not deserving to be a Civ was just talk. I guess the AI was plotting against them all this time . . .
![]() Even more humiliating? They got their own civilization before Canada!

I actually did found the ciity to see what would happen. The Nils stay, but the game plays like normal - it named the city properly and all. I should try building a few units and see what happens!
![]() I was rapid loading and restarting to find a good 20k for RSG5. I guess I reloaded so many times that the game went on strike!

That'll teach you to keep reloading for a better start...

Everybody can win with 2 cows and 3 luxes in the first ring. Why start a game when it's clear from the beginning that you'll win?! Take a look at Aeson's Tundra start on Deity... )

Lanzelot, your right. But Raliuven and I were both looking for positive starts for his 20K SG. We were trying to follow the wishes of the players and lurkers also. Well, guidelines anyway. I didn't really want to post a pic in his thread unless I KNEW it was a good start. Actually, the searching that night brought back memories of how awful C3C can be for me outside of the Editor. Most of the starts I got were on the Equator on the coast. The only redeeming factor of those lousy starts that I would get is a lux close by. This really shows the sick minds of the gaming programmers at Firaxis. They will bait you into taking a crappy start, but if you take the good one, you don't get any Iron and have to cross the map for a lux. But thanks for trying to keep me in line, sir.

A player is really taking advantage of the poor AI by accepting starts that are not two tile tundra islands. Especially if they are playing at the highest game levels.

You're a funny guy, and I'm a humorless barbarian. Sorry. Going to have to quit posting when I'm drinking.

A nice little wall to enclose one's territory. I don't know if it's common. I've just seen this the one time as it caught my eye. A result of Pounder's Railroads and the mountains, I guess. |

Old and a little lame, but meh. In this custom scenario the AIs kept sending settlers to clean up those volcanoes, although I had the game set up so that each turn a lot of volcanoes would erupt.

Dinobarbs Forever
I have been playing around a bit with TeTurkhan's Test of Time scenario, and as I really like nasty Barbarians, I decided to have some fun with some of the nastiest around:
DINOBARBS FOREVER!!!!! http://forums.civfanatics.com/attach...1&d=1340486779 http://forums.civfanatics.com/attach...1&d=1340486779 Right after this was saved, the Trex pack decided to munch on the new Incan city on the tile directly to the left of the pack. I did not have a unit where I could watch the excitement. I will rectify that in the future. |
