IIRC of my game, I was up to 2-3 cities until beginning of renaissance. Yeah, the lands were to awful I prioritized researchs via the capital (that wonderspammed) than numbers. Of course, I did a bad job in renaissance and thereafter too much focusing on military. If I was better on targeting efficient victory conditions, culture would be one that is very winnable, especially with my super capital.

Fogbusting is do-able decently with warriors.

Just remember, no barb spawns in the 5x5 square of your fogbuster. Then try to make an optimal pattern. I survived with warriors, so it's doable.

Till 640AD

Spoiler:
Played quickly till 640AD. Fogbusting was challenging due to large island but I managed somehow with warriors and archers. My exploring WB didn't manage to explore and estabilish trade connections due to early barb galleys so I had huge opportunity cost losses with my GLH. Lost Liberalism to an unknown AI 620AD, IIRC. I could have bulbed it but I wanted to Lib something bigger (MT). I gambled and I lost. Too greedy, I guess.
However, I'm in ok position.

Some screenies and save:

Brennus felt down...
He died as a forever alone.
He shall come back.
To grind you as a mere snack.

Deity Fun #3 - End.

Thanks shakabrade for the quick shadow. As usual, better empire development than I.

Deity Fun #4 upped.

He he I forgot to upload it. But you know, my game was a failure. I could've easily have gunned for culture, but I was so stubborn I used my 2 GMerchants and getting another one for Sid's Sushi is going to be risky.

What do you think...I only submit winning games...don't be ridiculous. An interminable streak of wins is not reality...

Still upped to be courteous.

You totally have Space Race available to you. I'd switch to free market, let cities grow for better routes and it's a game won in late 1800s. However, I don't understand the grudge you hold against infrastructure. Coastal libraries (haha, I invented a new term! ) always pay for themselves and observatories come really close to them. Your empire looks like it is set up for the rush but there was no rush. Still, very winnable position.
Regarding infrastructure payoffs, I always divide and bonus research. You have some libraries and observatories that would pay for themselves in less than 15 turns and you lost a lot of beakers so far and will lose many more if you don't build them ASAP. Health buildings should be next priority.

You managed to keep your tech edge regardless so I guess you have some superb brokering skills, better than mine, at least.

If you don't feel like finishing the game you can call it a win, since this is most definitely a winning position. You also have 2GS for Aluminum Co. if you lack for, well, aluminium, and can get 2-3 golden ages with all those Great People and some more in the future. Definitely a win.

Were you sarcastic?

No jokes intended. Looking my tech rate (20 turns is ridiculous) , I sensed I was at the end of the stick and I would fall behind at some point. Yes, I lack some self-reliance, but I am getting better each time. I am personally glad I cut in half my play time in the saladin one.

Diplo is one of my strong points...methinks. Even Duckweed noted that awhile back in his super preat challenge. A good network is a form of power.

BTW, you should look for DMOC game against Ragnar, twas awesome how he plowed in the superpower...

Win in 1900s is still a win and you learn better how to win as an underdog that way.

Diplo manipulation is what makes a deity player.

Regarding DMOC's game, awesome indeed. I have never seen stacks that big. And nice planning and execution. I don't think I have built any gunships and stealth bombers since I was maranoob. Regarding plowing into superpower, I usually attack when my power ratio is higher than 0.5 since AI is stupid and keeps garrison in all unthreatened cities. The bigger the AI, the more garrison he has in his power rating.

How do you feel when you see that Ragnar's stack imprisoned by cease fire while Shaka in your SGOTM wasn't nearly as stupid?
