Not a reply to CG, but...

I'm detecting two sources of delay. First, there is a moderate server delay while it builds the page. This is probably caused by the amount of database query activity required.

Second, the aforementioned www.booklandonline.info/icons/icons.php site causes a huge delay at the end, after the rest of the page has been loaded. I bypassed it (on Chrome) by adding it to my adblock filter manually.

I've said before, and I'll repeat -- it does not appear to be hardware, at least most of the time.

Did the database became corrupted enough to impact on the efficiency on gathering information?

As for bookslandonline.info, why hasn't that link been removed if it's a deadlink?

I just now followed your example and added it to my manually applied options block list (on Safari) in AdBlock. It works great. No delay now. That bookland thing is the major problem.

Adding this site to my adblock has done nothing for me; I still can't even load CFC on my computer.

I have adblock and CFC is still noticably sluggish to load over the past few days, particularly, after the server problems a few days ago. These delays are really effecting my enjoyment of the site and if this sort of thing keeps happening I don't know if I'll bother to come here anymore.

Ohh well at least its good to know Im not the only one with the problem, I thought it was only my computer since it is really slow to load or sometimes wont even load at all and gives me an error warning, is it going to be fixed any time soon?

We have not heard a peep from the higher ups in the administration about this. Given that this has been going on for days, I think they don't care about the issue .

It could be that only certain people are experiencing this problem and that is why they have not noticed...

ive just noticed this delay since checking the site the last couple days. i use NoScript and adblock with Firefox so booklandonline.info was already blocked. It's taking almost a full minute to load any page for me. It has also timed out once trying to load. All other websites I go to seem to be operating normally, but this one seems bogged down regardless of time of day so heavy traffic doesnt seem to be an issue either.

if they havent noticed it by now they should have since it is being commented on in this forum. my guess is that booklandonline.info is certainly a culprit in this. the sites ive been to that have scorecardresearch.com on them are EXTREMELY slow. their cookies are gigantic and bog your system down. it took some doing to uninstall the cookies to, a simple 'disable' option wasnt enough. it involved rootkit management which was really a pain.

edit: btw, i didnt come looking for this topic in this forum. after looking at the blocked scripts, i didnt recognize bookland so i did a "what is" google search for bookland and this thread was maybe the 4 or 5th thing listed so i figured it must be an issue.

I am running AdBlock, yet there was still a booklandonline delay before I added it to the list of extensions.

using NoScript i checked the script list today and i no longer see booklandonline.info listed. also, the forums are still very slow, as slow as when i checked yesterday.

I don't even have either of the two ads blocked and they still isn't displaying, so taking a picture right now is a little pointless.

That booklandinfo thing was removed earlier today. It no longer has the delay at the end now.

But seems the forum is still slower than normal?

Some of the delay was from the gallery screenshots at the bottom of forum main page. I have disabled this gallery screenshots feature there now.

I was still having problems loading pages and logging in took almost half an hour

the forums are slow even in the build up phase, almost like you would reference some nonexistant site and it has to fail on timeout (didn't time it, but it is similar to typical timeout of 30 secs)
