Old games on new computers
Dears,
Would someone know how to run old games on recent computers, such as Civilization 1 and Civilization 2? The OS I have in mind are Win7 and MacOsX. Thank you in advance. Lvdz |

For old games in general: you can use DOSbox for dosgames. Old windows games: sometimes it works in compatibilty mode. Otherwise install Linux and try to use wine.

If you have a version of an earlier Windows, I've had a bit of luck installing it in VirtualBox. Though it might not work. Can't say for certain.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll check that out. Also I've noticed some information available on civ1 and civ2 forums as well, sorry for the duplicate.

You can get Civilization II MGE to run on Windows 7 x64, as well as Test of Time. Instructions on how to patch it up so you can are here:
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=193215 With Civilization I though, you'll need to use Dosbox or a virtual PC of some kind. |
