PC Beta Patch 1.0.1.674

I followed the links from this thread:

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=463538

and installed the patch. Since I do not know for sure whether the patch is just GUI updates, or there are changes in game mechanics, I will await direction from the HoF staff before submitting any games played with the patch.

The highlights:

A "Retire" button,

A DLC box which allows one to disable individual DLC (good for HoF)

A "quick move" feature which disables the movement animations and essentially teleports units around. This will be GREAT for the first moves of a game where one decides to reroll or not. It is MUCH faster!

This probably alright to use unless a bug comes to light that is a massive expoit. Of course, I may involve a save file format change which could disable us until we figure it out. Submit something so we can see what happens.

I submitted a game and got the following error message for all four files:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/hofciv/public_html/civ5/include/submit.php on line 393

I've already removed the patch for the G-minor game I am playing. I'll resubmit the other one once the Parser has been updated.

there are very likely bug fixes or 'subtle' changes in the patch, which can definitely cause problems when trying to compare to prior patch games.

Besides... 'beta' is likely not a great thing to use for competitions.

now that this is an "official" patch submissions don't work. even though the file couldn't be parsed it seemed to be submitted, so is there any need to e-mail you?

one thing to note:

The courthouse bug has been fixed, so that's one less exploit in the game.

I have found the same problem, something to do with loops and strings!

I thought it was something to do with my pc so I tested with a quick duel dom game and got the same response.

true, but it was an exploit, not a feature.

It'll make Autocracy look a lot nicer for domination games though.

I think we have a fix for it. I will see about testing the change and fixing the submission that errored out. It will probably be in the morning though.

Please hold off submitting with the new patch until I get it straightened out.

Okay. AlanH figured out the changes so we are back in business. All the submission with the new patch were recovered.
