I got 19616 point in my first game but did some mistakes as it was harder to get enough smileys than I thought it would be. Playing a second now, and I think I will beat it.

Damn, I didn't thought that would be possible.

So apparently my submission was rejected for replaying turns. I know I didn't replay any turns, so what might I have done to make it look like I did so I can avoid it in the future?

Probably starting sessions to quickly. Like saving the game, closing it down. Reloading the save only 5 minutes later. That however is explainable to me, as the game sucks and bugs a lot, so reboots/restarts are necessary at times. However if any of these sessions is very short, that looks suspicious.

Every now and then a top player comes out with something truly outstanding, IMO this ranks up there with the best of them and may well stand the test of time!

Try to avoid short sessions.

Quote:
Session length
Play sessions should be at least half an hour in duration. Submissions with play sessions less than half an hour risk rejection
Fair question but please use the HOF e-mail for any questions regarding submissions.

With the complications surrounding the new patch, what is the cutoff time for submitting games for this G-Minor and the 1st-16th update period in general?

Ah. I would play during my lunch breaks- so those sessions were less then 20 minutes...

This really sucks- it was my first time trying a HOF game.

Thanks for the nice words In my second game things went better and I almost reached 23k. Lots of culture is important to get enough happiness. My policies were full tradition, full liberty, the right four of honor, starter + happiness in piety and the right three in freedom. At the end of the game I had too much happiness. Had only two maritime, with a few more I could have got some more points I think.

I had the same cultures, I even had the three of commerce.
Build every single spot I could and conquered enough for the courthouse effect.
I also build farms wherever I could and I still finished only at 13k.
I'm going to see your game to check out what I did wrong
Although I had only about 30 happiness left and there was no way to get it higher...

Good game, Vexing. Peets: One main key is to play fast and finish the game as early as possible. Therefore it's important to expand early and don't wait too long with settling. Fill the board as soon as possible.

i had 5 maritimes, or your second submission would have beaten mine. i was in unhappiness through way too much of the early game; i was too aggressive in early settling.
for social policies, i did tradition opener, all liberty, all piety, right side of commerce, right side of freedom, right side of honor taking legalism and monarchy and aristocracy at appropriate times, and i finished tradition near the end and honor at the very end.

taking all of piety was a mistake, i hadn't thought much about it at the time;
the cost of getting 20 policies starting at policy #11 with 10% off is about 20% more than the cost of getting 20 policies starting at #8. surely the +33% from wonders and other minor bonuses weren't enough to grant me +20% culture, so that slowed me down.

Congratulations Vexing, Khrax and Peets, I may have been able to give Peets a good run for the bronze if my pc was up to it, but such is life!
With the advent of the courthouse bug being fixed, it is hard to imagine Gold or Silver ever being challenged, I imagine Khrax must be gutted about only having two maritme CS!!
I take my hat off to you Vexing, this is an achievement I really do admire, and I am very jealous of you and your abilities!

I am very happy with the bronze medal

I thought I was too slow, I have some idea's that I'm going to test out.
One is, conquer all except one and then fill the board.
With puppies it won't harm your culture and most civs have different starting luxuries to keep up the happiness.

Also I didn't went freedom but went order for the extra happiness for the courthouse.
But halve food and halve happiness with specialist is much more interesting since you build very close and have high population in the cities.

it didn't make too much difference in my game; the bug didn't apply across multiple sessions, and i only played 3ish hours at a time. my final session(s?) were under the patch. so it maybe netted me one extra golden age?

the gp counter being incremented for all great people is a bigger change. that's a pretty large difference for all non domination games.

This is for Vexing, I tried to be nice, but you are who you are!!

It rankled me to be so friggin nice to you, but you and I know that Khrax is definately your match, you could have said thankyou for the praises I gave!!

I have achieved what I set out to achieve and that was to have the most gold medals and the highest score after giving you guys an 11 month start and to do it within six months!

I know I am just average as a player, but it shows what one can acomplish when we put our heart and soul into it!

I just would have liked a thankyou from Vexing (just once) ,unfotunately the guy is a ROBOT.

Thakyou all, good luck, and good bye.

The main protagonists in this HOF.

I make a comparison to the state of affairs and World War11 in 1942

Vexing = Germany. His culture has spread very quickly, but will it last?
Khrax = USA. The sleeping giant who is scientifically and Industrially beyond all others.
ColinTH = Japan. Who sneaked in the back door, made alot of ground (but no friends) and will quickly be swallowed up by the might others and one unknown!
Peets = Italy a staunch supporter of dictatorship.
Martin Alvito = Finland, small country with a big heart, stood up to the might of Russia.
Krakedhalo = England. very invetive and helping to keep the wolves at bay.
Unknown person = Russia. This person will emerge from the ashes to make his mark.

Sorry for those that I have missed.
