Windowed mode?
Is it possible to get smac to run in a normal window? If so, how do I do that?

Here's a technique that others have found to be satisfactory: 1. In your Alpha Centauri.ini file, delete the line (if present) directdraw=0. 2. Start one copy of SMAC. 3. Alt-tab to the desktop (colors and screen resolution may be messed up) and start a second copy of the game. 4. Exit one of the copies of SMAC. 5. The remaining copy should now appear at the top left of the screen (in a "window"). Colors and resolution should return to normal. HTH Petek

Thank you, works. Had to turn off project movies though, which is a bit of a pity, but they bounced me back to some twisted kinda fullscreen mode. Anyway, beats having to set up a vm just for one game.
