Legit Mac AppStore Version. Can't use Steam, Evolve or Hamachi.
Hey guys. I bought Civ 5 from the Mac AppStore awhile ago... I can do the in-game online thing, but nobody ever uses it. I can't do steam, or evolve, and I heard that Hamachi won't work. How can I set up/join private games with friends?

Didn't even know it was possible to play without Steam. It is available on Steam for Mac. Maybe if they gave you a code/CD Key you can put it in Steam and use that for online play.

No, I gave Apple my money. I can't get the steam version because I have the Mac AppStore version. Any suggestions or am I put of luck?

There's always Giant Multiplayer Robot. Check out the sticky for more details but it's different from regular multiplayer. It uses the hotseat mode to do a slower paced turn by turn way of playing.
Aside from that the only "in-game online thing" that I have uses your Steam account so if you don't have Steam I don't know what it's using. People do use it though it will be empty during certain times of the day. |
