Just bought a normal version civ v, advise plz
I bought the normal version without any dlc by mistake. To play all the civs and maps, do I have to buy the edition of yr 2011 again? Is there a package to upgrade from normal edition to eoty 2011? In addition, Will there be an edition of the yr 2012?

I don't think there is a version to buy all of the DLC - without also buying the base game (Game of the Year Edition). But, usually retailers will give you a refund if you are wanting to swap out the games. Where did you buy it from?
Contact their customer service and tell them you want to buy a different version of the game. Just make it clear to them they aren't losing a sale, and there shouldn't be much of a problem. |

You can buy the extra civilizations and maps off Steam if you didn't get the Game of The Year edition. You can also always wait until the next Steam sale and get them at a huge (around 75% off) discount. Buying the Game of The Year edition also won't give you all the DLC, Korea and the Wonders of The World addons are not included.
I know of no plans for a re-release of Civ V, there's the original and there's the Game of the Year edition. |

I would ask them for a refund, since it seems you bought it recently.

I will just wait for the discount then. How frequent does it offer the huge discount? At holidays?

Ah. Yea. That might be too much time - but it is always worth asking.
There will (I guarantee it) be a "Civilization" Summer Sale sometime in the next month and a half. Summers are the best time to sell discounted video games (and December is the best time to release brand new games :P). |
