MapFinder isn't going to let you see anything you are not supposed to see. It checks IsVisible flags for everything.

In my recent game I encountered a situation when wonders in captured cities don't produce any culture at all. Is this a common bug?

That is not a bug. That is standard in Civ4 and has nothing to do with BUFFY or BUG.

Huh? Is it standard really? I meant they don't produce any culture at all even when the city is out of resistance. When I build another wonder in the same city, it functions normally, but those already built by the previous owner keep neglecting their culture part. Unfortunately I don't have any old saves to compare - could you pls post some links to threads that mention about this issue?

Improvement suggestions for BUFFY/HOF MOD
I have these improvement suggestions for this mod:
1) Add these two leaders for this mod Hitler Mussolini Both of these leaders are in that mod A New Dawn by Arian. 2) In this mod CivFusion0.75 was new good setter and unit animations. Ask for mod creator if you can use them in this mod. 3) DO not add that RevolutionDCM component for this mod. It can really ruin your game. 4) Let's keep technolgy tree same. Too many techs. Too slow game. |

@33CI00FA
I'm not a member of the staff, but I can loosely afford possible answers: 1) Impossible. BUFFY mod is based on BUG (BTS Unmodified Gameplay) where every little mechanic and stuff (like units, leaders, X does Y) is kept unmodified from the latest patch purveyed by Firaxis. The only changes from that mod is information are less cryptic and more user-friendly like instead of checking AI war preparation each turn for each leader...the mod eases the process. But the unmodded game is kept in BUFFY. 2) No added stuff possible. 3) Well, on that aspect, I can't comment. 4) Ok, let's not modify the tech tree. I can only agree on this, but what's the purpose of #4. |

Tachywaxon:
Try that Civfusion0.75 mod and see yourself what that RevolutionDCM does there. Maybe I should make my own modpack: Combine this better user interface and those extra leaderheads. That would be fun

Sorry for being stupid, but I have another question:
For games with a few opponents, the Exotic advisor is just great, but when I try a more crowded map, I find it more & more difficult to see the first row in Glance: http://www.mediafire.com/view/?t1993ow159jki8k In this picture you can see the first row is reduced to a very small line. It's even worse when I try a 18 civs game, where that row is nowhere to be found: http://www.mediafire.com/view/?x6t8c8hbho281ru Since the first row is important in arranging leaders attitude-wise, the Glance is almost out of service without it. And I can't find the relevant HOF exotic option to fix it - have tested some values, but nothing changes. Could you pls give me a clue? |

Hi, I've been having problems installing the Buffy mod for bts 3.19. Basically i'm wanting to be able to submit games to the HOF. Whenever i try to install it i get the HOF mod error, and before you suggest it I've tried the fix's but they don't seem to do anything. Looked around and saw a few posts by Denniz's saying to install Vanilla 1.74 but it requires civ 4 patch 1.74. So would i downgrade to that patch install vanilla then upgrade to 3.19 and then install bts again? I'm new to civ and don't know much about the expansions so i'm very confused on what to do. Any help is appreciated.

You may want to post a screenshot of actual error, Astros. Otherwise, it may not be fully clear what error you are receiving.
"Vanilla" refers to the original Civ IV game. That is, "Vanilla" is Civ IV without the expansions (Warlords and BTS). So Vanilla 1.74 refers to the base game patched to version 1.74 (the last and latest). Warlords and BTS have totally different patch cycles, with BTS most recent and last patch being 3.19. So make sure you have Civ IV patched to 1.74 and BTS patched to 3.19 before installing any mods. If you think you may have a bad install or did not patch in order (it can cause problems) then follow the instruction in this thread from the tech forum: Installing Civ IV on 7/Vista Also, make sure you follow these steps found in the CFC HOF site: http://hof.civfanatics.net/civ4/mod.php?show=vista Lastly, if you are just receiving the "HOF Warning" it could simply be that you don't have "Locked Modified Assets" in the custom game options, which is a requirement for any HOF or GOTM game.

Another option would be to run the AssetChecker. Post your results here.

Hello,
I am unable to load the saves from the BTS GotM. As instructed, I ran the Assets Checker program, and it provided this: Spoiler:
I'd like to play the BTS GotM, but have no idea how to resolve these missing shaders FX files. Could someone please zip up the files that they have so that I can just copy them in? Or what would you recommend as a solution? Thank you, Defiant |

Hi There,
A week ago, I got tired of always trying to find this Civ disks and wanted a transportable version of Civ 4, so I purchased the Steam versions. I had initial problems as the it appears the Steam version of the CvGameCoreDLL does not match the checker (size of Steam version is 3,710,976 bytes for the record). Fortunately, I was able to copy a version of the CoreDLL (3,716,672 bytes) into the Assets directory from the original and and get the HOF mod loading and reading GOTM files. Here is the checker results for Vanilla Steam. Spoiler:
However when I tried a similar path to get Warlords to work I got the following from Asset checker. Spoiler:
And while I can load the HOF Mod in the Steam Warlords version when I try to read the a WOTM i get the "The save file you have loaded is protected..." which I assume means that the asset checking failed. Is there a chance that there is a bug in the checker for Warlords or are there any other ideas? |

Yes. There are separate Vanilla Assets folders for each expansion.
Note the path names in you checker results: Steam Civ4 Vanilla: Vanilla Files - Path: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization IV Steam Civ4 Warlords: Vanilla Files - Path: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization IV Warlords Warlords Files - Path: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization IV Warlords\Warlords The files you need are available for download from the GOTM FAQ page. First FAQ.

Since you know a bit about different Assets. If some XML files are missing from BTS (and I know they are missin) do the expansion game takes its lacking XML files from other Assets, especially if there were no updates.

Ah. Within Steam Warlords there is a separate Vanilla install that is separate from the Steam Vanilla install. So you need to patch and load the mod for the Vanilla version within the Steam Warlord version. Confusing, but I get it.
Thanks for the speedy response!! Much appreciated. |
