Help Me Please

In the very rare occasions that I actually write in these forums, I am requesting help. I am somewhat new to this, as in I can barely survive Noble difficulty. And hence my ordeal: Edsmonyida AD-1325.CivBeyondSwordSave

Can someone who has time on their hands, give advise on what I have done wrong so far. One thing I know I have done wrong was change to free religion. Thats what provoked the whole damn thing.

Anyway if you have time to play this, post results and advice please.

Wow that sounded kind of rude. Sorry. But play it anyway.

i just briefly looked at the game and u seem to be in a superior position. One thing i would have done is assign specialists in many of your cities that didn't need any further growth. Another is your apparent building spam, many of ur cities didnt need all the buildings they had, and those hammers could have gone towards soldiers to support the wars. I personally dont like cottages on plains tiles as well, i tend to workshop them or assign specialists and not use them til much later game.

Quick thoughts

1) Worker shortage.
2) Your builds are a bit schizophrenic - figure out what you want to do next, and DO that (meaning, don't do everything else at the same time).
3) There's no "Largest Bank Account" victory condition - if you are going to build up a roll, you should have some particular prize in mind.

The city placements feel a bit soft to me, but that's more of a "things to work at when you get better" issue. Right now, you need a plan.

I will play this a bit for you. This is what I did on the first turn:

1. There's no "Largest Bank Account" victory condition (I know VoiceOfUnreason already said it. But it's that important ) - I immediately put slider to 100%.
2. By this time you only know your continent. I immediately beelined Optics.
3. Civics. I immediatelly changed to Slavery and Pacifism.
4. You dont need Sistine Chapel.
5. Workers must not be automated.
6. I ordered forges/libraries/courhouses almost everywhere.
7. Future plan: get full view on world matters via exploring w/ Caravels and decide after that. But basically I plan get technology edge in form of cannons/riffles/cavalries depending on circumstances and own the world. At least I see it as the easiest way to win.

Update:
Here we are, 1901. I played mostly at autopilot mode without thinking much, but it worked anyway. Most of your stuff is in Avignon ready to get those few remaining % of land.

1.) You should have a few more workers.
2.) Workers shouldn't be automated.
3.) You could use that gold somehow. (i.e. Universal Suffrage, raise research/
