How do you move aircraft?

I've left clicked the 'rebase aircraft' option, then tried to click on another city to move it there. But nothing happens when i click, my aircraft remains uselessly grounded in a city two continents away from the battlezone. Nor will it rebase to any other city.

I've already googled for a solution, and it isn't covered anywhere. It seems this is a rare bug that only im suffering.

Why is this happening? Can it be fixed?

Silly question, but where are you trying to rebase it? There is a limit of 8 tiles or so, for fighters, if I remember right. It's pointed out by a blue line.

As mihaifx said there is a range limit on rebasing and the aircraft needs to have moves left to do it. I also think it is shown on the map by a blue line (just like the red line for attack range) and you can have more than one aircraft per city so no need to worry about stacking.

I have the same problem.

Can't rebase anywhere regardless of the range.

No blue line anywhere

There is a range limit which means you can't move your aircraft to a different continent if your cities are more than 8 hexes away at worst. Another fundamentally broken aspect of the game.

Not sure why you think that is broken. Planes can only fly so far. If you can't rebase to a city far away, build an aircraft carrier to bridge the gap.

Can planes rebase to forts or citadels? Haven't tried that yet....

Building an aircadt carrier to move a plane would take about 15 turns all in. 15 turns in late game is well over an hour if your fast. Another reason why the game is fundamentally broken.

Not to be confrontational, but isn't it more likely that what is fundamentally broken is a strategy that places cities so far apart that supporting them with air units is impossible?

Recently this bug hit me too. For some reason one of my planes (out of a squadron of four) couldn't move from one city to the next with all the rest. The work around for me is to click on the destination city graphics (the little buildings) rather than the city name plate which is what i normally do. For whatever reason that worked.
