Has anyone else had the problem of having to scroll down through various old units to get the new units you want?

Didn't Civ2 remove old units from the list? It would be a good idea to do it here also, wouldn't it?

The supply factor seems to be messing up govenor selection also... swordsmen being produced in the modern age by the govenor in some cases.

Also something to consider would be to have more non-resource units in the industrial/modern ade so that the countries that don't have access to resources like rubber can have a viable offensive unit.

You've answered your own question, and you don't realize it. Swordsmen are still available because they are the most advanced unit you can build if all of your resources were cut off, plus I think that UUs are available all of the time.

UUs arent always available, My current game as china, they require horses, and I didnt have any, so i wasnt able to build them, but shortly I traded for some and were able to build them, but after awhile I got Military Tradition, and Calvary replaced my Riders, no longer able to build riders...so they do get obsolete, and unavailable...
