Once again, great turn, Jayne !

I noticed two things :
a Vicking archer is approching on NE of Routskilde ; it's quite annoying : they should have landed on the North part of our republic - we should quickly settl our last city on the peninsula

on indian island (glad to them to leave their cat), I see a legion with some more unit ; should we plan to found a city right there ? Wouldn't it be better to have a look at it W forest square (just under the "V" montains)...?

I wonder if the Vikings have sneaked a city onto that peninsula? Routskilde is protected by a NON crusader, but there is a dip within reach. I think my instinct would be to bribe the archer - we have 558g which should be plenty. Then send the dip or crusader to investigate further up the peninsula and bribe any city we may find. I'm also worried about Viborg. The Vikings still seem very strong.

Right now, the possiblity of a new Viking city disturbs me. Like the last one, it was probably misplaced by those bumbling Vikings.

As always, an interesting turn. A pity I was unable to play...

Which reminds me, this Saturday a bunch of relatives will be arriving. For some reason, they feel the need to celebrate Christmas here. Add in the cleaning and decorating of this basement, I will not be available on Saturday. Jayne, if you would be so kind as to play for me that day, I would appreciate it.

Please forgive me if I'm raising something that you are already doing, but....

I can't download the game to check, but it would appear to me that we currently have a military advantage, at least over the vikings. However, I'm concerned that we're not pressing it to the full advantage - it seems to be a bit peacemeal.

Perhaps we should be dedicating a few cities to military production (crusaders) and launching a co-ordinated attack. Say with 6 or 8 crusaders, focused on one city. We could run to the capital, take it and then go whole-sale on the bribery front. I think we could secure the island much faster this way.

I'm with ainwood on this one.
We should try to crush the Vikings asap because we can obviously make more use of their cities' production and trade than they currently are.
Have we got a ferry to get some freshly-trained crusaders over to Scandinavia yet? Ought we build one, or is there a ship in the area that we can put to use? The Viking archer by Routskilde should be flattened by the crusader in that city, and then its home city bought before we begin a major offensive. It is best to ensure the security of our home cities first and then remove any lasting threat the Vikings may pose, expanding our territory and influence across the globe!
As you all know, I've been away for some time and am a bit lost with regard to the wonder situation. If we have not already had one, then I'd like to ask the Domestic Minister for a poll on whether we should aim to build Shakespeare's Theatre in Elysium or Legendary City. The arguments in favour of having it in the SSC are powerful and convincing, but I'd still like to have it in a Super Military City so that we can churn out battleships and bombers like nobody's business. Who has built KRC? That'd be nice there too, but it's a high priority for the AI and unlikely we could get both wonders in time.

Sorry I can't think about this much today. We are busy building Magellan and Isaac. KRC is already in Calcutta. We have lost a lot of units attacking the Vikings, and may lack a coordinated plan. They have also lost units, so we press the attack, but how soon? With what? We have a Ferry, but no General active for at least two months. There is always the question: Crusaders, Knights, or Catapults? We recently resolved, use Crusaders, not Cats. These questions seem much more relevant than Shakespeare.

I will be able to look at Support and Domestic Matters in about 8 hours. We need to rebuild the army lost over the last few turns trying to get North of the Viking Forest. Attack Hladir first, then Trondheim? Science: we need Explosives, than whatever you war mongers want. Continue to expand into empty islands, such as NE of Boreum, SW of Elysium. My .02

I think is a good ideea to disband V3 by building/buying a settler to be put together with the diplomat in the caravel near Lindow Moss, and to build a military-dedicated city on the island near Linholm. So we'll get a good strategical advantage on Vikings, being possible to attack them from two points.

- we founded V3 last turn!

However, I do like the idea of a outpost on the island near Lindholm. I would actually be surprised if the vikings haven't settled there already. A couple of judiciously-placed cities could provide harbours to protect our military convoys en-route to Scandinavia!

No need to apologise

I actually thought your post was quite funny - I can imagine how the likes of Gary and Jayne would appreciate disbanding the city they just founded

I think it's quite funny! That a fresh pair of eyes to the game thinks we are building towns in the wrong places!

A fresh pair of eyes is probably what we need to keep us on the straight and narrow!

Fresh eyes are a fine thing. We have been planning V3 for so long, there is no recent mention why it is there. It is a sea port, only 4 turns from Udal. It uses one nice Green there, and plenty of ocean. Perhaps not too smart now that Lindow Moss exists, but hey - I love extra cities. Btw, LM switch to Gems Van.
V3 can support a unit built by Uppsala Barracks - as can every other city. Like my next plan, V4 - Forest NE of Iron with Fish. Found on Forest, don't irrigate first. Support a Crusader.
Current Plan: Road and Irrigate Green for Uppsala, then place serf on Iron.

I have a request for all pairs of eyes. I am planning Settlers and Caravans. Someone could take over the Vans. And the Dip screen - is it accurate? And a General, to specifically plan the attack moves would be very helpful. NUF is building 2 Knights and 3 Crusaders. Appropriate?

Celebration 1100AD

We have been at 40% Lux for several turns. Few cities can grow, so perhaps one more turn, then drop back to 30% Luxury. Keep Tax 20%, so Science then 50%

REGIA CIVITAS: Size=8, needs Aquaduct, Food +2, grows in 19
Elysium: Size=8, serfs to ocean, Aquaduct Crisis in 10![/b]
Little Nemo: Settler in 14, grows in 5, ok?
Penguin Flats: riot? forest serf to ocean
Mordhiemia: Elvis to lake, grows to Size=7!
Reneaux: Celebrating to Size=8! build Market!
Dellham: Size=5, steal FA Food for 1 turn only, Irrigate ASAP.
DH Settler Clear.Orders, to DH Plains River Irrg (90,42)
Fort Anarchy: stopped at Size=4, grass to Coal Mine! Van in 1.
Monks Towne: will grow to Size=6, then build Settler!
Castle Jayne: Size=5, take food from MT, both grow!
Legendary City: Size=7! Grass serf to ocean, stopped already
Frozen Toe: will grow and start to Celebrate, but too late.
Routskilde: serfs to Ocean, Peat, Crusader in 2, grows!
Uppsala: will Celebrate nicely, Crusader, IPRB $8

I'm not sure which of these cities are already celebrating. Hopefully all of these will grow immediately: Mord Ren Dellham MT CJ Routs Upps.

Then after one turn, cut back to Lux 30% :
Penguin: Elvis, food shortage, plan to Rush Buy Temple next round.
York Downs: grass serf to ocean, Temple in 20, BUILD CITY
