I guess I will be the one to start the topic for this month.

For those who do not want to learn of things that you may not have discovered in the game yet, do not read further......

Has anyone noticed a lack of something we all love and play for on our home continent?

There are no huts. None to be popped for units, or cities, or anything.

Also our home continent is rather small and may support about 6-7 cities without much overlap.

I am currently chugging right along and have started expanding on another continent, but have yet to make contact with another civ.

I'm shocked! No huts! That will be dificult. I have only played turn #1, and this concerns me.......no huts.........what is my decadent culture gonna do?

Do NOT call that a continent, its like calling NZ a Continent.

Ya, no huts stinks, but ive gotten allong. If anyone wants to know what out island home looks like, its vey long, not very wide, infact i dont think you could put a city down that had less than 5 squareds of water in its radius. Howwever it has nice land and paris eats fish every knight

I finish this game this afternoon.
Conquest the world in 120AD
I just get a little score.
I think maybe I should not finish this game so fast.
This is my first time to play GOTM.

I feel your pain. I could have taken over the worled in around 1000 BC with out it!!

I had dragoons in 1 AD!!!!!

I'll win...but hunting down the respawning Civs is going to hurt my score.

And of course....I'll have the animated gif coming soon too.

Edit: Well I just finished. Bahhh....67% Stupid restarting civs.....caused my game to continue for 1000 years more that it should!!! Bah.

No kidding, I would have been done around 1500 bc without restarts. I also would have been done much sooner if my first attack on Cardiff didn't fail, due to the fact it was heavily fortified with its city wall. This was remarkably easy though.

So if you want to get a high score, do you finish as fast as possible, or get a high civilization rating and score?

p.s is the score related to the rating?

I'm going to need a GotM8b

After a week or so of Red Front this is just too easy.I had Spaceflight in 20AD.Woulda had it BC if I so chose.
Warlord is too low for Gotm.

here is my science city at 160BC.

I was feeling pretty good about my game. That was until I read what other people have done.

I found my first hut around 1900BC.

I'm just now pushing on the English and the Mongols, but can't believe how far people have gotten so quickly. I see that I still have a lot to learn about using caravans the right way.

Well, i've started it, but i'm not doing too great but i'm okay, didn't make many friends early though! and as if it werent cramped enough, the japanese and celts try to occupy my island!

Smash, I'm amazed. That's horribly impressive. I didn't make it past musketeers and chivalry when I won. Then again, I went for all out victory as soon as possible with no micro-management. I'm not even close to placing, but it's possible I will have the fastest finish.

Yes, I was really looking forward to going out and "popping" like crazy. I've found a few on the northern islands.

Well, I know I won't get space flight in 20AD, since I'm currently in 80BC and am at Industrialisation / Metallurgy. I might manage it by 1000AD.

How many people put a super science city in the same place as Smash? I did. The terrain just sort of beckons you to put it there.

I went to Republic for the science, but it killed production. I thought I might have gone too early, since I didn't have enough trade routes to make WLTC days work as well as they did in GOTM7. However, I wouldn't have got engineers so quickly. Now my civ is growing again as they irrigate everywhere.

That was just after a research lab and everything else.I can run my entire civ in Democracy with zero luxuries at that point.

It is the only decent ssc site available. In fact,if I hadn't founded my cap allready,I may have gone OCC with it.2 fish, whale and silk is not ideal but certainly sufficient

Holy God! How is that possible? 1284 SCIENCE? What did you do? Man, the highest I've ever had is 200 science and that was in the year 1932!
Put the Colossus, Copernicus' Observatory, Isaac Newton's College, a library, a university and superhighways in the city. Get the SETI program. Send 3 caravans to or from large cities. Make the city grow to max size and convert all Elvises to scientists. Put science to 100%.
I'm in the same spot, so I'll see if I can get higher.
