1)That's the whole point of this thread and he signed up to it  In fact, he pretty much asked it some pages back
Very well, I'll see what I can do tomorrow then.

2)It's not as much as this thread being all about you as much as it is you being the one claiming that RRW isn't a true communist (among others, but none else has said anything) and then refusing the say why :(
I didn't claim such a thing. I can't tell from the little I know to make such a claim. I just commented on what he appears to be, since he asked for it.

As you've stated before, you have no sense of humour, so don't let it bother you
It doesn't bother me. I just asked, since it seemed like a senseless response if taken seriously.

You said I 'also seem to be quite fond of the ideas of non-socialists.' Unless you are going to be specific, don't expect the same from me. Interesting that I'm a Social Democrat this week, last week I was apparently a Liberal
I don't need that sort of attitude. it is border-line insulting as far as I can see. Because it should be perfectly clear to anybody, that when one talks about ideas on a thread with politics as a topic, one refers to political ideas. Not pop lyrics or humourists.
As for your last sentence, I have heard somewhere that one week is a long time in politics, at least for some of us.

Bollix. your English is as good as mine.
No it isn't.

Thanks.

If RRW is a social democrat that must make me some sort of right-wing capitalist.
Does it now? Why?

I've copied Mise's system as it seems the least likely to offend. So the next part is all copy pasted from his original post and explains the system. I'll spoiler it as most people probably get it by now.

Spoiler :
The first letter answers the question, "When I see that this person has posted something, do I generally expect something worth reading?" People with Y are people whose posts I therefore always read, D I mostly read, while those with an N I more often than not regret reading.

The second letter answers the question, "Does this person have well thought out political views?" People who have demonstrated a strong, well reasoned understanding of the general issues of politics, democracy and liberty, as well as specific issues such as economics, welfare and education, have a Y next to their names. People with an N next to their names are either ignorant of some or most of these things and/or have got them completely arse about face.

The third, more bluntly, asks whether or not I generally agree with the poster. This is probably the least important of the three, which is why it is last, but I think it's useful to know nonetheless. In the cases where I don't really know a poster that well, I'll go solely by what they've said in this thread about their views.

* I enjoy the contrarian views of these posters, even if I think its mostly nonsense and have a mostly negative view of their poltical ideology.

I'm very surprised you vote Blueshirt... you seem like a Labour man to me. If you were a Dub you probably would be

I probably would be, I'm conflicted as to which party I should prefer. Broadly I'm a social liberal and economic conservative.

I was born into a business owning family and had ancestors in the RIC so that probably swung it.

I have never actually gone FG on my first preference. Voted Greens in the last general election, because of the candidate more than policy. I may very well vote Labour in the next election because I like Gilmore the most out of the party leaders and I felt very out of place among all the conservative FG types my age when I went to their national conference. I would be on the borderline between FG and Labour, a coalition would suit me I suppose. My strongest view on Irish politics is that I'm anti-Fianna Fail and anti-Sinn Fein. I will never vote for anyone connected those corrupt cronyists and terrorists respectively.

I have a few issues with voting for economically leftist parties. In general I don't see the primary purpose of business a vehicle to create jobs or provide employment. I'm all for workers rights, but within reason. Also I'm a bit dissillusioned with extensive social security spending, having spent most of my employment life working in a pub whose sole patrons are lifetime dole recipients. Anecdotal, but still its shaped my views. Also its not like I'm rabidly against social welfare either, I recognise that it is important and the vast majority do not abuse it.

All this said, Labour are not all that left wing and are certainly not radical so its not like I believe that if they got in it'd be all that different.
