Ever noticed how often 'one more' crops up in Civ?

...or more specifically how often you are one something short.

Like you always seem to be one movement short if you're trying to land an embarked unit (i.e. it will take another turn).

or your ranged unit is one hex too far away to reach a barb

or your scout is one hex too far away to beat a rival to a ruins

or of course you miss out on a wonder by one turn

I realise this is almost certainly confirmation bias!

edit: maybe they should change the button on the victory screen to "just one less turn..."

Yeah, I do notice it. It really must be confirmation bias, but that doesn't make the illusion seem any less real.

Yeah like having a time victory that was a turn too early instead of the science, diplomatic or domination victory that you were playing for.
