MP across the Atlantic

MP game between me (Los Angeles) and a guy in Portugal is creeping like a dry snail. We are both using MGE , but i have an imac w/DSL and he is a pc/56k. Any suggestions on how to increase game speed?

All MP games will be slow IMO, i have a 28.8k modem using AOL!!!!!! Now thats hell. But i still play an occasional MP game.
No way to increase game speed unless you both get better modems

thanks anyway, but,

i spoke to a tech dude and he told me to shut off my DSL & go down to the same modem as my Portuguese partner (56k). So i reconfigured back to my original 56k setup and the game now flys! We even incorporated a Brazilian guy also!

Apparently my DSL was slowing down to compensate for his 56k and that was also slowing the whole deal down on my end.

Dude, speaking of your 28.8k... imacs are dirt cheap, very fast & 10 times the quality of any PC carbon-copy.
