At 67 I may be the oldest Civ player here and, yes, I started playing the game the first day it was available way back in 1991. I was a beta tester on Civ 3 and its PTW expansion.

Is it better than any of its predecessors? I know people who still feel that Civ 2 was the best.
Well, you have me beat but not by that much- I think there is at least another player here in their 60's.
I have found every version enjoyable- and like you I have played them all. Gods and Kings? As has been stated it has more depth and consequently more challenges. Certainly worthwhile.
