Maya - Good or just Great?

Mayan UA needs planning to use effectively. You can get a religion that benefits from spreading and focus on buying buildings and missionaries, using your free GP to enhance. You're near to Education, so not difficult to get a natural GS before a UA one and have a double Academy. A GE can then grab you a powerful Renaissance Wonder that'll slingshot you farther forwards, perhaps Leaning Tower and take another GE with it. If you're isolated with six Copper, a GAd can find you trading partners. (Can also meet the world to found WC without Astronomy or coastal city vulnerable to naval). Later on, you can fill up GWA buildings that need same era. A GG might help nab some Coal or set up a CS whipping boy for XP farming.
