Land of the Rus

I demand a continuation of the story! ;)

This was definitely World War 1. I really hope that there's not a second one, but that would make for a relatively dull story.

It was more like a Seven Years War, which is still considered by some to have been the actual first world war.

Because of its global nature, it has been described as the "first World War".[2] It resulted in some 900,000 to 1,400,000 deaths and significant changes in the balance of power and territories of several of the participants.

But don't worry, I'll give give a true world war, even if I have to start by myself!:D
And I'll try to update today or tomorrow, though I haven't played on yet.

After the peace treaty had been signed, Lenin ordered most of Soviet's European Battallions to withdraw from Europe and travel East; even the Division Commanders didn't receive information about their final destination. Meanwhile, every factory in USSR was building either parts for Tanks or assembling them.

Other improvements were also made as Leningrad completed a Channel Tunnel under the Gulf of Finland.

Lenin died in 1932 and his plans were postponed for a while until Josif Stalin was selected to lead USSR into war against China in 1935. However, Stalin's plans were equally deceitful. The USSR armies had been secretly gathered in the Irkutsk and Amur regions in order to destroy the Chinese army that had been allowed to travel through Siberia into Europe to fight against the French Empire.

In June 2nd 1935 Stalin declared war on China. On the next day he signed a peace treaty with United States in order to concentrate the war efforts against Chinese Republic. The First World War had begun.

So who is who's ally in this war? IIRC, China has the entire eastern bloc as friends, and might bring them in... you might need some help in this war, even if you are the most advanced technologically.

Thanks jokoneli!:)

The situation remains the same as in the two coalition war as only me and my vassals changed sides. Therefore it is Russia, Mali, Mongolia, US, France and Khmers against China, Japan and Vikings. But I have played a little ahead, so I guarantee that others will join. Hopefully I'll have time to update again tomorrow.

When the First World War begun the Soviet Army was already the largest in the world.

Stalin's new 4th, 5th and 6th Armor Divisions found and attacked the Chinese main army in the vast forests north of Ust-Kut. The Soviet tanks stalled the massive army consisting of over 200,000 men, before the Soviet Infantry and Artillery arrived at the battlefield. The Chinese army was already in disarray when the European Infantry Battallions attacked it's flank from south. The Chinese losses were devastating, though half of the army was still functional.

The final blow came when the Siberian and Pacific Regiments arrived from Brjanks and joined the battle. The Chinese main army was decisively beaten. The Chinese losses mounted up 180,000 men as Soviet losses were only 20,000 KIA or MIA.

In January 1936 the 8th Siberian Militia conquered the poorly defended, but strategically important Japanese Pacific port of Fuyori. The port city was renamed Nikolaevsk-na-Amure.

The 1st, 2nd and 16th Soviet Armor Divisions played a important part defending borders of Soviet Mongolia from the invading Chinese troops.

Spoiler :
China was willing to capitulate, but that would have required me to declare war on France and I rather wouldn't, at the moment.

Yes I do, but if I would capitulate China, Japan would break free from them and I would still be at war against Japan.

What about the war on the Western Front? The Vikings tend to be very decent warmongers whenever I go against them (though I've never actually played RFC, might be different in there.)

And at some point, can't you bribe France to make peace with China and then get them to capitulate?

Awesome story. Just caught up several pages now.

The early GS gambit was leveraged very well to keep up in tech all the way through. And I liked your intial city placement better than what I usually do as Russia. I'll have to try Russia again once I download the new patch.

Are you going to found a city on Kamchatka?

All that bravery for nothing...just use a nuke and be done with it. :D

@Kullervo: Vikings have been very weak ever since I razed Lulea and I have three Armor Divisions in Murmansk just in case. And yes I intend to capitulate China by any means necessary.;)

@Danger Bird: Thanks!:) Also glad to see that you continued your story. Early GS works out great with most of the European civs, I strongly recommend it. Hmm, isn't Kamchatka the most eastern peninsula? I have two cities there.

@AP: Well, you are right, but I just don't like nukes and it's more fun this way!:D

Yep, you have kamchatka.

Oh, right. I didn't notice those two dots on the mini-map. :goodjob:

As the war raged in Asia, Stalin assigned an important mission to the KGB: they would need to steal the models of France's new airplane prototypes at any means necessary. Stalin was even willing to risk a war against France, if he only got his hands on these airplanes that were usually preferred as fighters.

The mission was a success and only half year later the first Soviet fighters made their maiden flights.

Stalin had also invested heavily in forming a formidable Pacific Navy. The flagship, first class destroyer, was named U.S.S.R.S. Stalin. As soon as it was completed in the drydocks of Magadan, it cruised towards Vladivostok in order to confront the sieging Japanese frigates.

The Japanese frigates were surprised and easily defeated by the superior destroyer. A Soviet transport, U.S.S.R.S. Breznev from Vladivostok finished off the frigates.

The Pacific Fleet had taken control of the Sea of Okhotsk and the Soviet Army was able to land on the Island of Sahal. The 1st Pacific Militia and 12th Armor Division made and direct attack against the Japanese Naval Base of Toyohara. Although, 12th Armor Division was almost completely destroyed during the amphibious assault, in the end the 1st Pacific Militia was able to take control of the base. The port city was renamed Korsakov.

In November 1939 France and France's Indochina withdrew from the war against China as they fiered that their Asian defenses would be overrun by the powerful Chinese Army. Immeatidely following this decision France surprisingly declared war on Spain. England honored their defensive pact with Spain and declared war on France. However, this had severe consequences and meant that United States of America had to honor their defensive pact with France and declare war on England, to which Spain replied by declaring war on USA. However, United States of America had a secret defensive pact with Portugal that forced Portugal to join France's and USA's alliance.

The First World War had now spread to every signicant nation, except Ethiopia. However, there were four alliances, out which each was only fighting against another alliance. The Commonwealth of England, Republic of Spain, County of Holland and Viceroyalty of Mesopotamia were fighting against France, France's Indochina, Republic of Portugal, Proctectorate of Egypt and United States of America. The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, Soviet Mongolia and Soviet Mali were at war against Chinese Republic, Tributary Viking State and Tributary Wo State. The world was at war.
