What are the best settings for Large maps?

I want to play a Large map, Continents, probably on Emperor difficulty.

Would it be really weird with Quick speed?

Are there other settings that could make it fun?

I was thinking of playing as Brazil or Maya.

It's pretty difficult to explore the map on quick. Your troops have a high chance of going obsolete by the time they get to your neighbor. You can make standard work, but I think epic is probably the best speed for large maps.

Standard time is fine for large maps. Quick might work to but I have no exp on that.. I don't like quick speed for any game.

Quick is fine if you don't intend on focusing on conquest, but large combined with full conquest is pretty much difficult. It takes time to move troops and you risk them being obsolete soon.
