I didn't put Argentina in the poll because it didn't get a lot of support in the forums, as compared to others which competed for the final few spots. Personally, with the inclusion of Brazil and the pre-existing Inca, I think South America is sufficiently represented; Argentina wielded less influence than Brazil and IMHO there are more influential civilizations to be included (Portugal, Indonesia, Italy, etc.). Argentina, as far as inclusion in the poll, lost out to Gran Colombia (and yes, IMHO Argentina is a better choice than Gran Colombia, but the latter seemed to be more popular).

Yeah, youre probably right. I guess Ill just keep my fingers crossed for the slim possibility that its chosen as the dark horse civ. You never know, Sweden was pretty random.

Apart from the most requested ones (Portugal, Zulu, Kongo, Majapahit), my choices would be:
Phoenicia, Hungary, Khmer, Nubia, Morocco, Khazars

Phoenicia and the hittites would be awesome also. I've already voted in the options offered as well.

Morroco/Moors/Berbers would be an interesting choice, but who'd be their leader? And aren't they too similar to the Arab civ?i.

Berber leaders? Here's a short list of the greatest I know:

Spoiler :
-Masinissa
-Kahina
-Abd ar-Rahman III (best choice if it's the Moors/Berber civ)
-Yaqub al-Mansur
-Ahmad Al-Mansur
-Abu Zakariya
-Youssef Ibn Tachfin
-Abu Yusuf Yaqub ibn Abd Al-Haqq
-Ibn Tumart
-Ziri ibn Manad
-Ismail Ibn Sharif
-Almanzor
-Al-Mu'izz li-Din Allah
Yes, I think there are enough of them;).
As for their similarity with the Arab civ: The similarities between them are similar to the ones between America and England, Sweden and Denmark or between China and Korea.

I generally play the Earth map all the time like many people in Civ V and I mainly like to see civs fit empty spots on the map and that are generally interesting and unique. So I personally don't want another huge bunch of European Civs because Europe is already completely crowded and are all quite similar. I wouldn't mind Portugal and Poland as they cover not so crowded spots and are new but no more than that, I like the inclusion of Brazil as it prevents the Incas from hogging the continent to a degree but another South American civ is required maybe Argentina or Gran Columbia? Assyria is in a fairly crowded part of the world (The Middle East) but it isn't as bad as Europe I suppose, I would like to see more Asian, American and African civs and here are some I would like to see included in BNW:
Indonesia
Zulus
Kongo
Sioux
Argentina or Gran Columbia
Portugal

Sadly, I doubt another South American civ will be in... Though it would be interesting to see Gran Colombia, it could fit amazingly with the whole ideology stuff...

I also hope for Kongo rather than Zulus, they are far more interesting IMO...

While I agree that Gran Colombia would be an interesting addition, it was extremely short lived and not really important. If it was created, it would be a strange conglomerate sort of like Polynesia or the Celts, just with less historical significance. So, as I've stated above, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Argentina as a possible second South American civ because it's more feasible. Still think Gran Colombia would be cool, just not nearly as likely.

I see Mexico as a possible surprising Outrunner with, pehamps, Sant'anna.

Tragic omission: Armenia

Get it together Tyrone...

Please don't beat up on me about the poll choices: I said it on the thread starter and I say it again - there are only 25 options, so some civs have to be left out. This is why I included an 'Other' option.

I suspect Diogenes might be teasing a bit.

However, you could have 250 and it wouldn't satisfy some folks. It's always oddd to me how there always those folks who feel it's the pollers obligation to perfectly encapsulate every conceivable choice. And then feel entitled to having an "Other" or "None of the above" option, useless as they are.

Well another South American/Caribbean Civ that would fit perfectly with the modernism and ideology of BNW would be Cuba, I would like to see Cuba.

There won't be an "ideology civ" in the remaining civs. For a start it's not at all clear that ideology itself is sufficient to sustain a civ concept, since it's an industrial-era development. But more tellingly, we've already got an ideology civ. It's called Poland, and comes complete with a UA that grants social policies and is named after one of the Cold War's most famous socialist movements.

As a country which was in the news in the 1960s and 70s but has a stereotyped reputation for living on Soviet-era technology, there's nothing that screams "modern" about Cuba either.

I think there could be a civ that makes better use of the ideology system or gets bigger diplomatic bonuses for having a similar ideology. Since the system hasn't been fully revealed yet, I wouldn't jump to conclusions about the remaining abilities are, but you may be right that Poland will be the only ideology civ.

Actually Armenia would be great. A major power for some time, first Christian nation, great heritage.. But I'm afraid there could be some controversy with the Turks, so it would end like Israel..

Hungary has pulled ahead of Italy! Oh yeah, Magyar power! On another note though, Armenia would be cool. If there is to be a central Asian civ, I hope Armenia gets it. There isn't that much controversy about it is there? Not nearly as much as Israel at least, right?

Indeed, but actually I think that's even less likely to happen... But well, Firaxis can suddenly surprise us and do something like that, right?
