Every civ is "Aurangzeb-Mughal Empire"

My Civ game has what seems to be a unique bug that renames every civ I try to play as as "Aurangzeb- Mughal Empire" when I select it to play with (the selection menu has each civ listed with their proper leader/civ names). The bonuses are still correct so it doesn't affect gameplay, but it is a little annoying seeing my Dutch settler listed as a "Mughal Settler" and always being "Lord Aurangzeb of ____". It is impossible to rename the Civ I'm playing as (I can but it just reverts back to "Aurangzeb- Mughal Empire" every time you apply the new name).

I've tried deleting local game files and redownloading them, but to no avail. I also do have some mods through the Steam community but none seem to be related to Aurangzeb or the Mughal Empire. Any ideas?

delete all mods delete all files in my documents (save files mod files) deinstall steam and reinstall civ 5.
