stNNES IV: Fiddling with the clock...

The Messiah

The tuareg say, that they were the first to be met by him. He came straight out of the great desert. He rode on a completely black horse and he wore a completely white coat. He came to their tents and told them about the eternal struggle between good and evil, between light and darkness. He told them that there was a greater evil, whose final goal was to turn the world into a dark and sinister place. This greater evil comes into many aspects and it trys to turn every human into his minion.

His weapons are hate, anger, lies and manipulation. hundred thousands of people have already been infested by him and with every human who turns to his side he becomes more and more powerfull.

Currently the balance between good and evil threatens to break. Demons are wandering among the people telling lies and destroying families and the light is helpless. Entire areas have turned into lands of darkness and temples to whorship the dark aspects are being build all over the world.

And then he reveals to them, that even the Berbers have already turned bad.

"The GOD you are whorshiping is nothing more then a greater demon of death and destruction! Everytime you make an offering to him you strenghten the forces of evil!"

The nomads were surprised and others were angry and they wanted to kill the Messiah if he couldn't prove that his words were the truth. Laughing he led them to the nearest Coptic temple. And when they entered the living rooms of the priest they were shocked! Against all rules of the church the room was full of dancing woman and the priest were enjoying them, laughing and drinking sinister potions! With rightfull anger the followers of the Messiah charged into the room slaying the demons one by one.

After they were done with their bloddy work they gathered outside the temple. And the Messiah said to them:

"YOU shall be my warriors of justice! You shall hunt the evil in every aspect! And you will be blessed!"

Then the Messiahs departed. He visited several other tribes and villages before he disappeared forever. The people he met called themselves "The Blessed" and they they soon started a journey through Mahgreb revealing the people the truth and how they all had been lied upon. At first they went to the southern lands were many men still believed into the gods of the ocean and the wind. When they were done, they traveled north along the coast into the more Coptic areas. Some cities resisted, but the Blessed had gathered such a huge fellowship that the evil was beaten. Finaly the capital was reached and the leader of the demons in Mahgreb was slain.

And after the purging of Copticism of Mahgreb a new religion was born. It started with The Blessed writing down the words of the Messiah in a great book which they placed in the former main temple of copticism. The book was called "Ar-Arrakh" which means "The Book". Here they wrote their thoughts about good and evil. And over the years the book had gained many many pages, because the writing did never stop. The people remembered their ancient believes and they realized, that there were aspects of evil and aspects of good all around them.

As they thought about the Coptic Demon they realized that for every evil there must be a good thing, too. So there must be a real god, too! And as they had realized this, they started to whorship this true god.

The believers of this new religion called themselves the "Ar-Arrakh-Issar" wßhich might be translated into "The believers into the book". Foreigners however called them Arrakhists.

OOc: What is Copticism about anyways? Actually the Messiah was going to come last year, but....

And das, don't freak out, be calm. ;) If you really want your religion changed, then fine. Gods people, you could go with the story.

So, 1500 is it?

IC:

There were many wars - victories, defeats, many lands conquered and most of them lost, a civil war in which Syria nearly ceased to exist... Yet it united once more against foreigners who tried to conquer it, and so it went on and on through centuries, it was a sleep-walk, as it was only half-awake, as were the other nations of this strange, strange world, but come the Year 1500 on the Hebrewist Calendar, or the Year One on the Newest Syrian Calendar, and there was the AWAKENING.

It means that your still considered the *** end of nowhere. By other people. It also means your people consider it the center of the world. ;)

Basically, little is happening there.

Good, no one will want to invade me :)

Stats are taking a while.

Here's what I have so far... BUT PLEASE NOTE, THESE AREN'T FINALIZED... I have yet to decide wether or not to make better trained troops cost more upkeep, on the one hand it doesn't make sense logistically, but it is balancing.

NK - how much years per turn?

all i need now is some npc identifications

That is more than I can bear, one of the best moderators turning the entire update over the Germany.

Yeah, right. Especially the part about the Polish uprisings, and the bit when the Germans failed to bomb Madrid and Toulouse, and that time when the German fleet was forced to pull back from the British despite technologic superiority, and when only three of the many bombs that were supposed to hit French forces AT ALL, and only one of those in France, was succesfully dropped. :p

Either way, that's hardly related to this thread

Sorry guys. Have to quit this.
