Hoplite (-3):really weakk uu,is a spearmen with just a little more strength ,but apart from that is the same
Tercio(+1):IMO tied with the jannisars .they are both great replacement,horewer the extra strength of the tercio and the bonus against cavalery makes then the best melee unit in the renaissance

Ballista is another one of those early units that only get small combat increase. CB's more useful.

Cossacks need more love, 33% vs wounded units is amazing buff. Flanking enemy and picking weak units that are about to escape are cavalry's main purposes. First ranged shot and then cossack charges and enemy unit is dead.

Reasons:
Kris promotions which are negative make the unit too risky of an investment.
Jaguars are bad-ass, heals when kill a unit, double movement through forest/jungle, plus bonus to attacks in jungle/forest. They truly shine when upgraded to more advanced technologies.

But Hoplite and Bowmen should be gone by now and Panzer should be at 4 ect. I think that list is some old version. Does someone know what is the real list?

Also i don't know how bad the panzer is ranked.in bnw is actually usefull with late wars being more common

It's a lancer unit that has +1 movement, +3 strength, shock and does knockback if it does more damage.

It sounds decent, but as a replacement to the awful lancer that doesn't upgrade in forever, I don't see how it merits the 27 it has right now, which is in fact higher than the Impi, a unit that redirects units off the lancer path and is brutally strong for its era.

Most ancient era UU's suck (Maori, Atlatist), but the Jag is good enough not only to build, but has some decent promo's that carry over on upgrade. Also has great synergy with jungle-bias starts.

War Elephant 13 - why would I want a slower, more expensive mounted ranged unit with higher base strength and only +1 ranged strength? The slowness of the elephant makes their strength less relevant because spears catch them more easily. They come too early to warrant investing the production in these units.
