These maps are massive. Would selecting small map and adding 2 more AI's to make it the usual 8 be relatively close to the standard map size?

Last time I played on one of these, I went Standard with 10 civs and 20 city-states, and there was still a fair bit of room, so I'd recommend that, maybe even 11 civs.

But your solution works too if you want something that feels close to actual standard size.

I really wish they had made the sizes of these be in accordance with the normal number of AIs (Scrambled Continents has the same problem). It's frustrating to want and try out one of these maps, as cool as they are, and find out everything is huge distances away.

I actually play most of my games that way, regardless of map. (Adding more AIs.) It increases interaction and makes for a more enjoyable game.
