We´re not all barbarians

how mutch cities to be set in australia?
there is a barabarian city there also :/
IIRC that barb city has a unique resource that we DON'T own. I want that one!

At work, so I can't say how many more in Australia.

I played until we get communism (We missed the great spy by 4 turn for Catherine).
I planed it for the golden age still had 1 turn to change civic.
I propose to go free religion/ communism/free speech/ caste or slavery (I don’t know)

So what happen during 12 -13 turns?
I start by reviewing our trade agrements (gained 15 golds/turns :mischief:)
I build observatories, banks and galleons.
I start putting watermills everywhere cottage would not fit.
We got a great merchant witch I used for a golden age (change to free speech because of town bonus)
I catch the hut in the middle of pacific for 57 golds
I met Aztec and inca. They have nothing to teach to us :(
I funded 3 cities :
one in Siberia to block Catherine in a gem/fur spot,
one in Australia in the silver/copper/uranium (I know this map by hearth  ) spot,
one in chile.
I bring armies near the barbarian city in Australia (1 musquetman, 3 keshik and 1 crusader) but barbarians are tough guys, they have 4 longbows on a hill :(, I let the next player attack or not.
I’m bringing armies in chile to take the city in argentina but they could be derived to the austrialian barbarian city.

For international relation, Frederic asked me to cancel our relation with japan, I agreed for the +1 only. That mean we can't cross japans lands
I refused everything else.

China and Persia declared war on asoka. The war shouldn’t be very long :(
At one point asoka asked for help against Arabia (Persia), I refused but consider it for a lot of time. I still have the save of the previous turn if we decide to change path.

We still need to bring 2 settlers in Australia (whale and copper spots).
For next tech, I put replacable part as a placeholder. This one has my preference but could be changed.

Its difficult to contain one's warmongering instincts.

Rolo is UP.

edit: had a look at the save, no great deals around for communism atm. It would certainly be worth swopping to SP sooner rather than later. Should we swop to FR? It will help with economy but diplomatically we'd probably lose more than we gain. On the other hand FR is just so civilised and modern.

Could you please stop playing ahead? Or at least not tell about it?

I agree 100%. Play ahead has always been considered a violation of SG protocol.

I was scratching my head trying to figure out what in the world that last post was about.

I never read the SG protocol, sorry
I said nothing in my auto-censured post.
Just that i did play for fun for some turns (around 15 turns).
I told none of my choices and no information of what's going to happen (only that's things are going well).

A bit naughty but lesson learned and time to move on, once Rolo posts a 'got it' or a skip.

In this case I agree - you did no harm. Time to drop this issue...

More a friendly warning from me as a future comment could cause harm. Better to play it safe and not say anything.

I think we need more ships to shuttle to Japan - arrogant bas#@%@

See post 5.
My point in waiting was NOT clarification about the ruleset ;) I want some input about what could be the goals to get before peace ( or if we want to get out of this war ASAP ).

@LK

The Japs pretty much sunk our fleet in the first strike ( that is ,the galleon that was coming back from Aussie land ... that unfortunately was near the japanese main island when we were DOWed ). That in fact is the major caveat of this war, we don't have a navy worth that name and will take a while to ferry a suficient number of troops to deal with Japan.

We have ?4 galleons now scattered about I guess, Toku has a bunch of caravels which can kill galleons through numerical advantage. We have a stack of sorts out west which will take a few turns to head east.

Cyrus and Qin are at war with Asoka which keeps them busy atm.

We have a significant tech lead over Toku. My first idea would be to whip out a few frigates and get them to escort galleons on their way home.

It does mean slowing down our occupation of South America, will the knights and cuir en route be enough to take barb BA? We have keshiks in Australia which are of course obselete by now, maybe upgrading a couple to cuirs would help with barb city there.

Overall I would prioritise virtually total war against Japan leading to their destruction. Did we ask them to attack us? Did we do anything to provoke them? Are these questions rhetorical?

Looking at tech chart and power chart I'm guessing that Bess has got rifling. Might be worth checking out trade options to see if we can speed up our journey to rifles.

We have 4 galleons , none nearby. The japs have a naval stack of caravels + 3 galleys, so we will be creamed if we try to move them to our mainland without some coordination and even then ...
Spoiler :

The land units in their fleet suicided againt our city ...

The only issue with the Japs here is getting a fleet to move suficient troops to Toku main island. Other concern is the pro stuff he has, and the fact that our mounted units will not fare that well in there ( hills, lack of width )

On techs ... I would most likely refrain trades until we get RP ( this are the only ones that are willing to sell us stuff ):
Spoiler :

BTW in the IBT we got 3 invitations to join wars in that IBT: the Inca and the Aztec ( against each other ) and the Persians ( against the Indian ).
