Trackpoint (the little rubber dot inside the B, H, and G keys)
Pad (Touchpad)

an external mouse is not an option

I alternate, depending on my mood, but I use pad more often than not just because it's big and in my way.

A couple manufacturers (Dell, for one) have come out with laptops having both.

I'm a trackpointer, myself. Hate the touchpads with a passion usually reserved for rude people.

None, Though my laptop has a touchpad. I use the Mouse that I can plug into the USB port.

Pads are the best. They are so easy and cool. :)

nooooooooooo.... not the dungeon of CT, no one reads those threads

@Gainy: I don't know, would it make sense if i told you i'm thinking of buying a laptop, and want to trackpoint vs. pad into consideration? (i'm not, but at least this way it won't seem weird)

Touchpads. Although I mostly use external mice, anyways.

It seems that the move to CT (Chieftess? :D) has lured SF into the thread. :)

If I have to choose between the two, the trackpoint seems to be a little easier for me to use.

But I'd rather use an external mouse.

I have mainly used a touchpad, but when I would like a trackpoint too, I think.

I did get an external mouse for Christmas present... so I use it mostly at home.

I'd prefer if the laptop had a ball rather than those touch pads. Touch pads just annoy me, so I'd try to use an external mouse whenever possible

touchpad, because I was clumsy enought to break the trackpoint of Laptop!

Pad, my really old laptop only has a trackpoint. Its a pain to use.
