The AI embarks units despite certain death from my military; instead the AI could choose much better moves.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Load Suicidal Embarkation before1 save
2. Observe pictured pikeman and proceed to next turn
3. Observe pikemans proximity to my trireme which offers an easy kill

I think this is the same bug referenced by flashog here in the final bulletpoint. Infact it's also referenced here but its more than a suggested improvement; in a strategy game its a B grade bug.

Yes, it's well known. The AI is happy throwing its units in the water regardless of any danger. If someone doesn't want to call it a bug it's still a design flaw.
Some players choose not to make these easy kills as they find it a cheap way to profit from an AI shortcoming.

It's interesting to see what will happen with this in light of the upcoming expansion. Embarked units will then be able to defend themselves, that's is a confirmed feature. I'm sort of assuming this will also be introduced to vanilla Civ 5 in a patch, as a change like this is more like patching than expanding the game.
