Embassy notifications

I don't have an embassy with the Celts. They declared war on me. I built an embassy with the Aztec. Aztecs and Celts are at war, according to the diplomacy screen. Question: Since I'm at war with a civ I have an embassy with, will I be notified if they make peace with the Celts? Will I be notified if they go to war with another AI? Or do you only receive embassy messages if you are at peace?

Hate to see a post go unanswered for so long. Honestly, I don't know and I am not sure how that works.

My observation has been the notifications are made for civs that are know by your civ, (that is), if they can be seen in the diplomacy screen then a war/peace announcement will be made for you. I am guessing if a civ is not yet discovered you wont be seeing any announcements.

Although, when an unknown civ builds a wonder you do see a pop up message so....

Take it for what its worth that's just my observation. I could be wrong.

Chances are that you need a spy or an embassy during peace to get all popups.

Wonders are probable a different issue.
