I installed the patch, now units and cities are invisible... and buildings exploded!

Yes, so, after installing the update, I no longer see any units or cities. Meanwhile, one or more of the buildings have grown massively and gained psychedelic colors. Actually, I just realized that that mass of blocks isn't even in the right place, since there's not a city there.

At least, this is what happens in DX11. In the DX9 version it seems to work fine at first but after a few turns it just plain freezes.

I don't understand what the problem would be.I installed the patch(on vanilla) earlier, and it works fine, even on a game I had going before it was released.

That does look quite wild though.Sorry I don't know what to tell you.

I would definitely start with updating your drivers and we'll go from there.
 
Posting this here in the hope others might know a solution.

I installed the fall patch and now my scenario units are missing. These units are all new (custom) ones I created a while back and have worked perfectly fine in the past with G&K pre-patched. The vanilla (non-modded) games work fine with units appearing.

I have tried the following:
- Updated to latest graphics drivers
- Opened scenario map in Worldbuilder and re-saved it post-patch
- Cleared cache
- Rebuilt my project file for the scenario in Modbuddy.

Please note that the settler flags for the units in the screenshot are NOT a part of the problem. That's just me not having defined the proper flags for these units yet.
The game seems to have no issues except for the missing units.

 
I updated my graphics card driver. Nothing has changed in DX11, but now it almost works in DX9. I'm having the same problem mentioned here: the game freezes whenever the ranged combat arrow comes up.

I'm not using any mods.
 
J...not sure if the two threads should have been merged as my problem is different to Mandaliet's.

Hopefully a solution can be found to both issues.
