Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Do the back ups happen on Fridays now? Since I just gotten hit with a database error just a few minutes ago

What does 'approve message' or 'unaprove messages' mean in the social groups?

"unapproved" messages are hidden for all users, when you approve them they get visible again.
It's for the case that you're not sure if the content is appropriate and it's then easier to read then when you directly delete them.

Why did UGO change its name to 1up?

Is this why the link icons changed in My Favorites to what looks like an LCD monitor with a white exclamation point in it?

I just saw this a few days ago.

The icons for the Hall of Fame is still a small, lit torch, as is the icon for the link to the main page (www.civfanatics.com).

What forum system does this site use? PhpBB?

I swear this been asked before but I can't find it.

If you want to link to a post but not have the post by itself how do you do that. If you click on the post # its just the post itself. I thought you had to do something to the link but I got strange results when trying different things

Is there a way to put anchors in a post so you can jump down to a specific spot in the post. For a long post.

test

Ok so I got the link. Now how do I make it jump down.

[anchor]test[/anchor]

That didnt work

You need to use [set_anchor], then link to it.

http://forums.civfanatics.com/misc.php?do=bbcode#set_anchor

So:

[Set_Anchor=1]This Text is the anchor I am setting. Note the "=1" parameter[/set_anchor]
This Text is the anchor I am setting. Note the "=1" parameter

[anchor=1]And this is how I set the index to link to the anchor. Note that same parameter (these can actually be text, if you like)[/anchor]
And this is how I set the index to link to the anchor. Note that same parameter (these can actually be text, if you like)

Thanks. Why didnt I see a link to the BBCode page anywhere. Or did I stupidly miss it.

Now I see it in the small box
