If you would like your new or updated Civ3 file included in the front-page news, make a post in the following format:

Type: (Scenario, Unit, Modpack, Map, Utility Program, Tutorial, etc)
File Version:
Requirements: (Vanilla Civ3, PTW, C3C. etc.)
File Entry URL: Make sure that the entire URL shows as posted. Directions below, if needed.
(please add your file to the file database if you haven't already!)
Author Name: (your CFC name, that is)

Guidelines for Previews
Three options to get a picture in the preview gallery:
Please post previews that match the standard game graphics. for example post either an animation preview or a pedia-icon-sized image for a unit. LH at in-game LH size. The standard tech icon 170 x 128 preview that shows both large & small icons is also an excellent size to use for any graphics.
If you've got multiple items, you can combine these standard sizes into larger images. Larger screenshots, such as those needed to display an interface in use, that have even proportions are fine - but are subject to arbitrary chopping & scaling to reduce them to a dimension of 128, 256, 320, etc. I seriously doubt anything larger than a wonder splash (320x320) will make it unscathed. If no dimension matches these guidelines the image is unlikely to be used.
If you make a preview that fits, you get to make the aesthetic decisions.

If you do not follow these guidelines do not expect your submission to be included in the announcement.

Guidelines for Previews
Three options to get a picture in the preview gallery:
- Put the preview you want in the post you link to
- In your post here put a separate, clearly labeled, link to the preview you want
- Or, as part of your post in this thread, include the preview you want

How to correct a URL so it all shows:
Spoiler :
There are several ways to shorten how a URL linking to a thread or post appears. None of these methods is any better than another. It just depends on which one is easier for you to understand & use. Personally, I prefer method three because I only have to remember to begin with [post = ####] and end with [/post]. But other people may find one of the other methods easier.
I'll use the link to Virote_Considon's German Explorer as an example
Method One
Method Two
Method 3
Method 4
Hopefully at least one of those makes sense & seems simple enough to put to use.

Method 4
Spoiler :
Sometimes just inserting an extra space after the first ] works.
Instead of
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=9937770&postcount=2
use
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=9937770&postcount=2
It's a subtle difference. The only change is just to insert an extra space. I'll use _ to show where the space goes:
So you end up with
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=9937770&postcount=2
Inserting the space should work for any of the long strings of code. But I make no guarantees.
