Hehe, France doesnt have Republic. Since I fear France might have the ability to do some damage to England(and London is now a border city, I dont want the GL to fall into Joanies hands), Im going to wait till she comes out of Anarchy, then gift her Republic & hope she will go for it(which she most likely will). Those extra turns of Anarchy might slow down the pace a bit, but it will give England a much needed break.
