Gulf War Mod

Here are some of my new units. Most can be used for this mod.

Osa Class MIssile boat, MIM-23 SAM, Lupo Class Frigate, MIM-72 SAM, Assad Class Corvette.

I made them last week and have to concentrate this week on some school deadlines.

There seem to be tons of WWII ships, but not many modern ones. That is a drawback if your not making a mod that is only superpowers, because no one else seems to have carriers/battleships/nuclear subs.

Also going into this mod will be my unreleased Siege Artillery Mod. It changes the siege tower graphic, when attacking a city, to an artillery piece.

Sumner Class Destroyer (Iran) Lurssen TNC-45 Patrol Boat (Kuwait/UAE)(hull texture to be revised)
Polnocny Class Landing Craft (Iraq/Egypt/Syria)

They look really good:goodjob:do you take a lot of these from the google thing and convert them? Or make them yourself? And which version of blender do you use? I expirememted with it earlier today, im pretty horrible at it:lol: Its a long shot but i can maybe start making new models, for whatever reason my biggest problem is opening/saving files:cry:

Thanks again. I don't take unit(only buildings) models from the internet anymore. I used to. Google warehouse units have too high a polycount. I use Blender 2.49 because it is the latest that has a stable nif import/export plug-in.

With units some I make myself, some I use what has been done and then sculpt. For the Summner/TNC-45, I used the destroyer base/turrets (or missile cruiser) from Civ4 and then made the custom tower using google sketchup. I made the Landing craft from scratch except the turrets, smoke stack, and antenna.
 
Any chance of doing a mortar, it was commonly used in many middle eastern wars, including the gulf war and the website is missing a mortar. It shouldnt be to hard, probably just take one of the modern looking anti-tank weapon, delete the guy, place it on the ground with two sticks to hold it up, but it would need a custom animation im sure, probably after this unit
 
Doesn't sound too hard to make, but I don't want to have such a huge queue that we can't complete the mod. BTW, I've also made a Kuwaiti Great General.

Have you seen any modern frigates/corvettes/destroyer escorts on the site? It would make my life easier.

Yeah check out TTT, theres a modern frigate, corvette (both regular and stealth corvette). Also the heavy crusier is really art for a modern destroyer. And destroyer escort is in Realism invicuts and used as torpedo boat destroyerin my mod, but its a bit inacurate since in Realism invictus has it upgrade to a destroyer (which is WW2 era) and destroyer escorts were used post WW2. Escorts weren't really specific though, they were really any destroyer and if that destroyer was protecting a carrier it would just be labeled escort, so i think many different art can use
 
OK cool. A lot of middle eastern navies are made up of sold-off United States ships such as WWII destroyers (e.g. Sumner Class).

Also what you were saying about the long queue, personaly i would rather you focus on just art making. i can put the mod together myself, as well as do python (can't create my own but as for buildings i can use much of platypings), I got a couple other people that constantly help me with mod making, so if you can focus on art making, i can take care of the rest, you would just also have to do SDK/DLL, also UAVs are a must need :D

I can give it a try in a week or so, but im not good at making maps, personally i think its best if you start it, just place the water/land, and i can do the rest. Even if you place it all desert, i can place rivers, edit the land, add resources, etc. That would be most of the work but im just not good at scaling it to know how far to go with land etc. I will attempt maps but i dontn want to do it on a map we need (since it will take many maps tried to get it right)

I can pretty much make any size map with the map utilities, but we don't want it too big. In addition, remember there are very few Iraqi/Saudi Cities out west because of the arid desert.

Ill leave this one up to you, im honustly up for whatever you want, since you have made maps/scnearios on this you have by far a better feel for what it should be. My personal preferance is whatever effects thee scenario you should put in, so i would think south to Riyadh, east to Qatar (which would probably allow the capital of Iran to be placed in depending on how north), I would include as far north as iraq goes, but west is tricky. You want to include atleast part of Syria, which can be in the north, if you reach the jordan border, i would say put in israel as well, since there were missile attacks, as well as many Arabic cities on the west, but otherwise i would stop the west near where the Euphrates river hits the Syrian border, but really its up to you, thats just my unprofessional opinion

also the picture is here, its the ICBM launcher in my mod but it looks nearly exactly the same
 
What I'll do is use the biggest BTS map size and then try and fit our map into there. I can always change dimensions with some utilities. I figure too huge maps cause game lag, but we want it big enough to draw out the game. I figure maybe something like my kuwait map, but reduce the dimensions by 50% so there is more space.
