Worst starting location ever?

Just your luck there's a mountain there! I agree with everyone else: it could have been much worst (look at all the people who started on a one square island) I've also seen civs that have started in tundra and snow, still: this is why someone put in the regenerate map button (although looking at your screenshot it's probably too late)

The three worst starting positions I have ever encountered (all on Highlands maps)

1. Why? What did I do to deserve this?
2. Nowhere to put the second city.
3. No trees in the starting cross, AND I'm on an island. Just Great.

I don't know - well I do, it's almost automatic with me to research Hunting (if necessary) and then Archery as part of my opening 40 or so turns.
