Units

There we go. Done. There's just one error I found:

- Foxtrot Class (USSR) (India\

Was the slash meant to be a close bracket or did you not finish the entry?

EDIT: Does anyone want to volunteer to amalgamate sheep's data with Joe's, overnight or tomorrow (i.e. adding the number of units in service)? If not, I'll do it on Thursday.

to be continued...

It might be a good time to remind you that I still think that as opposed to actual coded unique units, we should use "National construction nodes," that is, collections of classical architecture placed in the city. That would not only be a good way to add flavor; it would also allow ccountries controlled by foreign powers to still have unique units. So for example, with a Chinese node in Shanghai, it would train Chinese units (just like a Budhist monastary enables Budhist missionaries), regardless of who controls the city at the time.

Ground Forces

All vehicles in this section have the real world numbers in service listed. It is my belief that every 10 real world tanks should represent 1 civ 4 tank. So North Korea has 1600 T-55's, in game they have 160. I think thats a fair system?

TANKS ARE NOW FINISHED! HUZZAH!

Only took till quarter to 7 no the 30th November :p

quick bump to say all tanks are finished, next stop AFV...

Rather than multiple unique units, how about all 'modern' units (Jet Fighter, Stealth Bomber, Stealth destroyer, Gunship, Missile Cruiser, Modern Armor; maybe Mobile Artillery and Mobile SAM) get +1 Strength for every level of Future Tech you've currently got?

not all modern weapons are the same in quality or strength or quality, likewise the training in some armies is far superior (sp) to others. I.E I would garuntee a challenger II MBT would wipe the floor with any Russian Federation T-90 or T-72

And tbh, whats the point in making a world 2008-9 mod thats mean to be accurate if you make every army on earth the same... one of the main attractions of the mod at this end.

Precisely. Currently, if the same unit is built by two different nations, the units are identical. With my proposal, the unit from the more technologically advanced nation would be deadlier.

I dont see why nations cant have Unique Units...

whats the point in an accurate mod if the units are completely shot to hell. Another mod of having the UK with the default modern armour (which looks like an M1 instead of a challenger) is not what im putting the time in for.

I was thinking that say, a Polish T-72 would be more highly upgraded than say a Pakistani one.
