Draz and I are testing out the re-installed Chess on AC2, to see if we can replicate the problems I had in my (blunderful but won) game v. New Age long ago, and I thought I just as well share here.

Keep in mind that I suck; the kid clearly isn't incompetent in the opening, and I know for a fact that he's not incompetent at maths, which I am...

1. e4 e5
2. Nf3 Nc6
3. d4 d5
4. Nc3 Nge7
5. dxe5 dxe4
6. Qxd8+

Today, he resumed the game:

7...f6?
8. exf6 #

Final position:

Obviously for those of you who know what you're doing over the board, this was the battle of the chess midgets -neither of us had developed as much as we should have eight turns in, for one thing- but he was going to end down another pawn, and if I didn't blunder -not a good bet, BTW- and played carefully, two pawns is decisive, of course.

And let me just add that black had some decent strategies for continuing the game.

8. ... gxf6
If you take the pawn with the knight,
9. Nxg6? Bg7 (threatening knight with bishop)
You have to pull your knight back.
10. Ne4 Bf5 (threatening knight wiht other bishop)
Black has pushed back White's attack and developped both bishops nicely

I'd be happy to continue the game as black where you left off, if you are interested in seeing where the game might lead.
