Death to the Kremlin, a wonder I have never built and will never build. More love for Stonehenge, which is borderline essential for non-religious civs if you want a religion at higher levels.

Same votes as before, for the same reasons.

I really like how informative this thread has become. It's fun to vote but also fun just to read the discourse on each wonder and their uses/advantages/disadvantages and such.

I notice my vote's been missed again. :-( Poor Djenne still on 13.

More love for Stonehenge, which is borderline essential for non-religious civs if you want a religion at higher levels.

Depending on map size, of course. It's very feasible to get a religion on Immortal without Stonehenge on all but the largest maps (and not very feasible to get Stonehenge itself) - although a late one.

I really like the Great Lighthouse as I mostly play water maps.

My downvote goes to the Pyramids, as I hardly build it (I prefer to buld the Great Library by that time, so I need some spare time to build other important buildings and composites). Two workers are nice, but I don't like it too much. It's not like Hagia Sophia or something like that.

PLEASE COPY THE LIST DO NOT QUOTE THE LIST. QUOTES ARE NOT EASILY RECOGNISED AS VOTES! THANK YOU!!!!

I beelined for Iron Working after I found a spot with 6 resources and still failed to get Colossus in my 6 resource tile secondary city (around 20 turns to make it). Was extremely pissed that China beat me of all people, like the only civ beside the ocean. Ansdabnjabajbfajbfa. It was barely turn 70 at that point. Probably not ever going to beeline and rush for Colossus again unless I get another 6 resource tile city (had that fricking +1 production boat tile too, ugh).

By the time I look at a production list and think I may actually want the Forbidden Palace, someone has almost built it. By that point in the game happiness just isn't THAT big of a problem with my play style.

With the Leaning Tower of Pisa though, I usually grab a GE and rush another wonder, essentially giving me 2 free ones, about the time I have some juicy wonder options.

Macchu : Great wonder for boosting your trade routes, can really increase your income. It even gives some faith now, too

Great Lighthouse : I would often love to have it, but on King or higher when the AI gets Pottery for free, one of the AI is almost guaranteed to rush it, so its nearly unacquirable.

Oracle is easy to get. The AI hardly prioritize it and free policy/+3 cpt are very helpful.

I rarely build FP. This wonder is a bit weak until you get a very large empire. By that time the AI will have built it.

The 25% bonus to worker speed is very useful - the Pyramids is something you only usually want in a tall empire when you aren't taking the Liberty policy that does basically the same thing, but I'd definitely say it's stronger than Hagia Sophia.

Forbidden Palace is a Wonder I always look at and think I should be building (20% change in happiness when you have a global pop close to 100 is better than Notre Dame), but somehow never get round to to find out if it's as good as it looks.

In my recent games the Library has once again proved it is a great wonder, with a nice science boost and a free tech along with it.

The Great Wall is a poor bonus, really. Enemy units take a bit longer to move, so what. They shouldn't be in your land anyway!

I like Pyraminds quite a lot. if you think the hammer cost is pretty good for what you get, by the time you build 2 workers and put them to work its quite close to if you build pyramids, you start little later to update yuor tiles, but the faster speed helps you catch up and evetually go past.

I dont think i have ever got a good start which would make Colossus viable.

Great Library is overrated. Not only is it very risky to try and build on Immortal/Deity, your science is likely better off in the long run focusing on growth in that time.

The Louvre comes at about the point where if going for cultural VC you can start a permanent Golden Age phase.

I guess this comment goes to support the idea that most people don't like negative positives, so to speak....

While I agree, basically, with the comment, the Great Wall can be one of those things that you wish you had thought about grabbing before the AI who turns out to be your main rival got it....;)

Having said this, in my current game I couldn't get to it...usually it's always a lower priority....but this time it doesn't matter. When I eventually found the AI who did get it he isn't really very important....but other times it's turned out differently.

I think the Great Wall deserves a lot more love and respect than it's getting in this thread ...

The big ben is amazing when combined with mercantilism and tithe.
Taj mahal is a waste of hammers for me. Not the weakest wonder in this game, but the weakest on this list (pyramids close second)

Even as a preventative measure I haven't found it important - Ramkhamhaeng captured the GW during one of my wars with him on Emperor (one of the rare occasions I wasn't playing as him - I think I was Pacal). I still had no trouble taking his cities. In most of my games someone else takes it (since I don't go for it), and I can't think of a case where I've even registered its existence and thought "damn, wish he didn't have the GW".
