People seemed to be disappearing left and right; whatever incomprehensible forces at work here were wreaking havoc. 39 people were left standing in the town – but wait! In the distance they thought they saw another, somehow malicious in intent. The people hurriedly gathered to discuss their course of action – and feared the man was a foreign murderer after them all!

The search party would have split up in different directions, but once again something intervened. As people fanned out into the abandoned town and fields beyond, they were beset by strange sights. Someone saw a stretch of frozen steppe, another a seaside villa, and yet more saw a glimpse of desert.

But then a rustle in the distance caught everyone’s attention, and they had decided it was an Australian they were after. Stalks of grain crashing down as he fled only brought more attention – and he couldn’t outrun them all, and was soon nearly surrounded.

“Wait, please! I don’t know what’s going on. There was an Island – and a Monster! It could be here, and we don’t even know where here is!”

Time seemed to stand still as his next statement fell on the temporarily hushed crowd:
“Guys, where are we?”

Yet the mob snapped to and lunged after him, and he tripped up and smashed his head onto a rock.

Charlie was dead.

Spoiler :
Charlie was Australian.
Spoiler :
The Australian Faction has been eliminated!

“Well that sucks,” someone spoke out, “But that leaves us with one of you as the real villains”

And a last voice broke through as the people were returning to the town square and gathering their thoughts: “Might as well continue the lynchings then. Who’s next?”

******************************************************************
It is now DAY ONE. Day ends in 48 Hours

Vote for lynch in bold, accusations struck through. Remember, there are NO support votes.
For the first Day ONLY, players not voting count as abstaining, also equivalent to voting for “no lynch to occur.” Afterwards this remains a valid vote but players who fail to vote do not get counted for anything.

Vote for the SHIELD of Captain America to be given to a player in blue.

Good luck.

BASIC GAME DETAILS

GAME PHASES
The Game is divided into alternating DAY and NIGHT Phases. DAY is 48 hours long. Night is 24 hours long. All Phases end and Updates take place at GMT 2:00 AM. This should correspond to 9:00 US Eastern Standard Time, or, identically, every 48 or 24 hours from the last update, officially on the hour.

FACTIONS (ALIGNMENT)
The United States (Innocent) faction is the Innocent faction which a majority of you will belong to. Note that every character is part of some faction and alignment, with their own victories and goals.

STRENGTH
Every player in the game has a Strength stat. This influences a number of actions, including lynches. Strength may be modified in a various ways; your Strength will always be listed as
Base Strength (Effective Strength)

ITEMS AND ABILITIES
Players have items, abilities, and other effects usable to influence the game. For anything which is not passive, I as the GM must receive a PM at the appropriate time detailing your action. When using an ability that does not specify anyone else involved to initiate it, please PM ONLY ME as the GM. In short: PMs to other players will not be accepted as actual orders to use an ability; if you wish to send separate PMs to say/claim whatever to others that is still ok. Item transfers will require consent of both players.

Generally, the number of actions a player may take can be limited – this includes activating or otherwise using items, and transferring items between players, along with of course abilities. Items may be publicly revealed to put up to a vote by the next update as a free action.

LYNCHES
Every player may Vote during the Day Phase for a player to be lynched by the town. Votes must be bolded; retractions struck through. Voting is not mandatory but highly encouraged – by both myself and I’m sure many fellow players.

There are NO support votes. However, players Abstaining – not the same as not voting – count as effectively voting for “no lynch to occur”

Finally, be aware that Lynches and other actions, in general, are NOT guaranteed to happen cleanly or exactly as you may think they are described. This could be due to a variety of factors, Strength being a major one, so players are encouraged to be aware of the risks.

VICTORIES AND GOALS
There will be different levels of Victory, awarded/recognized by the end of the game, as you all see in your PMs. Players should strive to achieve the best Victory they can through whatever means they feel are optimal. Roleplaying is welcome of course if desired but not necessary.

SPECIAL ACTIONS
The Town may choose to attempt an Action other than lynching a character during the DAY. Likewise, at night there may be unique opportunities for players to attempt to do something

GENERAL RULES (Thanks to various precedents that make this easier)

1) Be active and participate! You do yourself and everyone else a favor by contributing to the game. Communication with other players is key. Feel free to use the CFC PM system as well as other methods of communicating if you wish.
2) However, you must follow this rule: Never quote, copy, paste, forfeit, or otherwise try to present anything sent to you from me, the GM. You may paraphrase information like who you are and your abilities but not quote your Role PM or other GM info.
3) Quoting, forwarding, etc… of communications from other players in the game IS PERMITTED. Be aware of how others may be trying to manipulate your information. But also, be reasonable to your fellow players and paraphrase when necessary.
4) Players who are dead may post in the public thread and comment on already public information in a way that does not overly influence the living. They may not communicate novel information about themselves or others. The dead will otherwise comply will all instructions from the GM, including no other contact outside the game thread in any way with any living players or otherwise further participating in the game in an influential manner.
4a) ALL players will be diligent in checking for PMs from the GM and following GM instructions before other actions- Especially with each Day/Night update. It would be unfortunate to see a situation where a player dies and has not read the PM telling them they are dead or something similar resulting in inappropriate game-thread posting. Dead players may be further informed of circumstances regarding what they are allowed to do/say – so everyone be careful you don’t get privileges like being able to comment at all while dead removed for everyone.
5) Before each Game Update there may be a lockout period where posting is disallowed; it will be mentioned by the GM. Players are encouraged to avoid last minute posting/voting etc… if at all possible, though of course the GM will try to count everything before the time for a writeup cutoff. Note: Players MAY talk on the game-thread during the NIGHT PHASE of the Game, as the Rules stand currently.
6) Roleplaying is encouraged in thread and outside of it too. And of course, you should chiefly aim to achieve your character’s goals and victories however you see best see fit. Try to avoid outside baggage and play within the spirit of the game.
7) Abide by all Forum rules at all times.
8) Always feel free to ask me for clarifications on anything. I can’t promise every question will be answered, but if you ever feel I’ve made a mistake or need something made clearer, feel free to ask.
9) Don’t be afraid to think outside the box…and have fun and good luck!

NIGHT 2/MORNING 3: Georgia O'Keefe is murdered, along with Tenskwatawa the Native American, and Abraham Lincoln and the Red Baron duel to the death. The town finds themselves in an Industrial Complex.
MIDDAY 3: Debate lends itself to favor a particular lynch; a radio is found and put up to vote along with the many other things from the previous night.
EVENING 3: Tennessee Williams is lynched and many items are voted to various people hoping to survive the next night.
NIGHT 3/MORNING 4: Daniel Webster and Duncan Idaho perish during the night; the town finds themselves at an Airbase.
MIDDAY 4: Pressure for a lynch leads to the use of a set of Enchanting Paintings which reveal information about the Tralfamadorian.
EVENING 4: The town forgoes a lynch; searching the Airbase finds an anachronistic Energy Weapon.
NIGHT 4/MORNING 5: A couple of attackers spell doom for the USS Nevada's Captain. The people are transported back to the Abandoned Town.
EVENING 5: Items are voted to various people and the majority of the town breaks up a lynch attempt only a few were supporting.

Yossarian is torn apart with little traces left and Tom Clancy blows himself and the Japanese Admiral Yamamoto to smithereens. EVENING 9: The lynch target this evening is the supervillain and German Axis conspirator Ernst Stavro Blofeld.

EVENING 11: The town thinks they have found a villain in Benedict Arnold, but it turns out he was still a loyal American.
NIGHT 11/MORNING 12: Woo-ka-nay, known to many as the warrior Roman Nose, was killed during the night, and the Midwestern Town was becoming an all too common sight.
EVENING 12: The leader of the German expedition, the villainous Oberst Herman Dietrich, is lynched.

landlubber/Duncan Idaho
Renata/Duncan Idaho
Kennigi/Duncan Idaho

Spoiler :
Welcome landlubber to THOSE DARN STATES

This is your ROLE PM

You are Duncan Idaho, loyal bodyguard and warrior from the far future!

Faction: United States (Innocent)
Strength: 2 (2)
Items: None
Abilities: None, for now…

Victories and Goals: Swordmaster’s Quest (Innocent Victory)
You can already sense there is great evil among those gathered here across space and time. You would dedicate yourself to help eliminate it. As time goes on, you hope to refine and rediscover talents and abilities that make you stronger and more able to fight back.
-You achieve VICTORY if at least one Innocent survives and factions opposed to the United States are eliminated.
-You achieve DECISIVE VICTORY if you have survived to discover more about what disasters have befallen this town and their greater consequences, and unlock the potential within yourself.

Ah, the Duncans. (same PM for these three) landlubber was the Duncan who survived to the end, but as everyone could imagine by now it was an interesting role. In short, they were all literally clones of each other - and more than that, they were interconnected. When one Duncan died, the next Duncan inherited some of his memories and life experiences, including tramatic moments such as who killed him. As Duncans were killed the remaining ones would also go up in Strength/general skills. landlubber found out about Kennigit's death to Csargo, and also the same memories taillesskangaru recalled of being eaten by the Lizard. He never recovered his crysknife though (Diamondeye was voted it) and he would have had an additional +2 Strength on top of his 7 at the end just for the knife.

The idea was the Duncans would start off like very simple Innocents, but become important as time went on. And of course the rest of the public/everyone else was expected to respond frantically to the existence of several Duncans/cause general uproar and chaos. Interestingly this didn't really happen cause they were all reluctant to step forward/do anything after the first Duncan was killed. Anyway, the Mafia almost could have done better to not kill a Duncan at a certain point to avoid them getting stronger/exposing the Mafia, but at the same time the whole "confirmed Innocent" business is risky. Essentially, the core Mason group of the game realized in a unique fashion, and they lived up to it as Duncan died several times before finally surviving.

taillesskangaru/Duncan Idaho
Spoiler :

...
Items: Crysknife: a beautifully balanced weapon crafted from the tooth of Shai-Hulud himself. Grants +1 Strength.
...

tailless was Duncan Prime same PM except for the knife part here; he had the knife to begin with and otherwise no essential differences.

Love/The Spy
Spoiler :
Welcome Love to THOSE DARN STATES

This is your ROLE PM

You are George Washington, Commander of the Continental Army, Founding Father, and First President of the United States. God Bless America!

Faction: United States (Innocent)
Strength: 3 (3)
Items: Wooden Teeth
Abilities: Cannot Tell a Lie: Being the paragon of virtue and honor that you are, you also have the charisma to inspire those qualities in others. Three times in the course of the game, you may force another player to publicly reveal their ability, or publicly surrender an item, or have a similar effect on rooting out dishonesty.

Victories and Goals: Stars and Stripes Forever (United States Innocent Victory)
-You achieve VICTORY if at least one Innocent survives and factions opposed to the United States are eliminated.
If Innocent Victory is achieved, and you have successfully forced a hostile player to comply with your will in public to expose them you may attain a DECISIVE VICTORY.

***************************************************

But actually, you never really were on his side, because…

You are the SPY, a near unstoppable assassin!
Faction: Ancient Multi-Hued SpyCrab (Chaos)
Strength: 6 (6)
Items: Wooden Teeth (worthless)
Invisibility Watch: You may choose to be invisible at will at Night, at the cost of other actions. While invisible, you will have an increased likelihood of being unaffected and untraceable by other players and their actions or any attacks. You may not travel anywhere or perform other actions while invisible.

Abilities: Domination: You may choose to go out and try to kill another player at night. You cannot do so if you are invisible.

Disguise: You may disguise as another role once per phase (once per Day, once per Night). To do so you must have intimate knowledge of the role itself, not just another player. This may be accomplished by observing another player while invisible, or after killing any player outright or examining a dead body. If you are disguised as another character you will appear as that person to others in the context of any action. Be aware that this may affect the motivation and results of abilities in use by other players, from basic self-defense if you’re attacked to other effects. Disguising itself is not an action interfering with invisibility or going out to kill.

Impersonation: After any night when you kill a player, you may also choose to hide evidence of their death (specify when you send a kill order PM, they will not be found dead the following morning, but if they continue to be appear missing-see below- may be found later). During the Day, if you disguise as this dead player who others do not know is dead, you can mandate that the dead player make up to one (1) post on the forum game thread, and answer up to three (3) PMs to other players, with whatever wording you ask. Previous PMs/communication/info from a player will not be given to you. I will try my best to enforce this as GM and inform you if a player can’t be around to cooperate; regardless the dead player will not be allowed to tell anyone else you are doing this, make any other posts or game-related communication, complying with all rules on dead players otherwise. Only one player may be impersonated during the day at a time, and you may continue to post on the game thread as yourself and answer your own PMs or other communication. To impersonate the same player at night; you simply travel to their room under the disguise. Also, be aware you may choose to impersonate a player during the day and not at night if you wish to use other abilities at night. In general, be aware of what benefits and risks come from using a disguise or trying to impersonate someone and what would happen if/when it’s discovered.

Wooden Teeth Tell Lies: If you maintain appearances as George Washington, (no other disguise or invisibility) you CANNOT be discovered by any divination magic. You are confident this overrides any other player’s abilities or suspicions on the great hero.

Victories and Goals: Endangered Species Preservation
-If you survive to the end of the game, you achieve VICTORY. You do not have to eliminate all other players or any specific factions or have the most strength - it’s possible for you to blend in to the crowd and survive if, say, a United States Innocent Victory is achieved. Though, you will have to outlive anyone hostile to you.
-If you do not survive, you may still achieve MARGINAL VICTORY or if you’ve slaughtered enough other victims for a respectable high score or something equally worthy
-Most importantly, if at any point in the game you have Collected Three (3) Hats you achieve DECISIVE VICTORY
-If you meet none of your above victory conditions you suffer DEFEAT

Special: While warnings were given out beforehand, if you have any concerns over playing this role, please inform me IMMEDIATELY. It may be possible to modify your role or otherwise work out a compromise. This role is rather complex and the possibilities are quite numerous, though I tried to make things clear with specific examples you can do with the abilities and items you now possess. If you need any clarification on what actions are possible feel free to ask and I’ll try to clarify. Needless to say you have quite some license to be creative so be active and make the best of it!

Where to begin...if all that doesn't do it justice I can't explain too much more easily either. A lone killer and a ton of abilities to boot. He did well staying safe and winning Innocent trust but at the same time killed a few people, especially his run of killing and impersonating for a few days starting with taillesskangaru.

Some of the funnier things about this role never came out because Love never even could have publicly claiemd to be Washington. Anyway, he did catch on to hints about what he could do with disguises and so forth, making a dead player appear to vote or so on. He also could have attempted to have dead players "surrender items" or do other stuff. A couple counters were out there of course - if the dead player was lynched or the town chose an unusual action he could have been exposed, and of course Moriarty and the Duncans and Mafia factions could have known for instance when someone was "really dead" and not just missing.

George Washington's false teeth were entirely useless, though he could have claimed whatever he wanted and given them to others; he was safe even from Lady Liberty's scans if he looked like George Washington. Anyway a fun role I hope. He should have gone for the hats though; he would have immediately won Decisive Victory and escaped as soon as he got three (the game would continue for other players of course). Also would have gotten more funny jokes/custom names for items he received, and see the description of locations for the Dead Ringer, which he also might have liked to get (and would have been brutally awesome if he got himself fake-lynched as some disguise or something)

Methos/John C. Calhoun
Spoiler :
Welcome Methos to THOSE DARN STATES

This is your ROLE PM

You are John C. Calhoun, prominent antebellum United States Senator.

Faction: United States (Innocent)
Strength: 1 (1)
Items: None
Abilities: Statesman: Your votes count double for the purpose of lynches. This is a passive ability. However, please note that your vote counting double will be noticed in the total vote tally – so for example if just you voted alone for something it would read as “2 Votes” so exercise caution with your position.

Victories and Goals: Stars and Stripes Forever (United States Innocent Victory)
-You achieve VICTORY if at least one Innocent survives and factions opposed to the United States are eliminated, otherwise, it’s DEFEAT.
-You achieve DECISIVE VICTORY if, on top of Innocent Victory, you manage to get lynced a man you know would lead the United States down the wrong path – the overbearing firebrand Daniel Webster. You might hope to recognize him trying to exert his influence among the Innocents in public as well.

Very similar to Webster essentially; didn't have the third part of the Great Triumvirate as Clay was a cut role. Anyway, killed early on by Mafia who feared his skillz one suppooses so missed out but thanks for the participation anyone.

Nictel/King Kamehameha
Spoiler :
Welcome Nictel to THOSE DARN STATES

This is your ROLE PM

You are King Kamehameha the Great, uniter of the islands and just ruler of Hawaii.

Faction: Native Americans (Neutral)
Strength: 3 (3)
Artifacts: Pele’s Stone – Reminding you of Naha Stone you moved in youth and the volcanic earth of your homeland, it hastens your desire to protect the innocent and with some magical bonus doubles the effect of your ability (see below)
Abilities: Māmalahoe Kānāwai: Each NIGHT, you may choose to protect another player of your choice from attack, adding your strength directly to theirs. While in possession of Pele’s Stone, whenever you use your ability at night you may actually execute this ability twice. You may choose to protect the same player twice or two separate players; the second protection adds only your base strength in either case.

Victories and Goals: New World Order (Native American Victory)
-You are part of the Native American faction. All of you share similar victory conditions for a faction victory, though you do not currently know which other players are in the faction
-If you survive until the end of the game and the United States achieve Innocent Victory, you share in a MARGINAL VICTORY
-On the other hand, if the Native Americans are a dominant faction at the end of the game or are on amicable terms with the United States in an Innocent Victory, even if you do not survive, you attain a well-earned VICTORY
-If a Native American faction victory is achieved and you personally defend at least two Innocent or Neutral players from aggression, you achieve DECISIVE VICTORY
-Lastly, you feel you must be additionally wary in oversight of your Artifact. If it falls into evil hands, you would feel robbed of a greater victory, or suffer a worse defeat

As already mentioned, he awarded himself for protecting the Spy. Overall his protection was used in hilarious manners; the best being when he protected Love (the Spy) and DrumStudent (Yamamoto) the same night and Love attacked DrumStudent. The Native Americans and Innocents still pulled through in the end and his Artifact just went to the alien. It would have been incredibly dangerous given to a Mafia, enabling them to do things like kill twice in one night; in fact, it would enable anyone to use abilities twice so was a major Artifact anyway, but that warning was especially potent.

Perfection/Washington Irving
Spoiler :
Welcome Perfection to THOSE DARN STATES

This is your ROLE PM

You are Washington Irving, American author!

Faction: United States (Innocent)
Strength: 1 (1)
Items: None
Abilities: Short Stories: Your gifts with the pen are quite phenomenal, and you feel everyone here has a story to tell. Perhaps you’ll already find a way to put your talents to use just by staying around…

Victories and Goals: Stars and Stripes Forever (United States Innocent Victory)
-You achieve VICTORY if at least one Innocent survives and factions opposed to the United States are eliminated.
-You achieve DECISIVE VICTORY if Innocent Victory is achieved and your literary work persists as a timeless legacy to the world

Lurked his way through the whole game and came out unscathed, goodness knows how. He told me before the game he might not be the most active and like Camikaze I assigned this role with that in mind. He initially came up on the role randomization as the Spy, the most complicated serial killer, but missed out on that for his inactivity/laziness. Anyway thanks for playing though.

He didn't actually write all that "Washington Irving" stuff as mentioned - that was the Catch-22 crowd, one more chaotic thing. But his real purpose was even more crucial - while alive there was more information revealed in writeups. If he was killed then alignment/character info may have stopped being revealed with various kills, particularly non-lynch kills.

pevergreen/Lady Liberty
Spoiler :
Welcome pevergreen to THOSE DARN STATES

This is your ROLE PM

You are Lady Liberty, world-renowned symbol of Freedom, to your own citizens in the United States and all others who share their ideals.

Faction: United States (Innocent)
Strength: 1 (1)
Items: Torch of Liberty – when this item is used, it will help see through deceptions. It contains 5 uses, you may activate it as a free action – specifically, you or another player may use it in conjunction with an ability like yours.
Abilities: Enlightening the World – Each Night, you may choose to investigate one player of your choice. You may choose to determine their Name/Role, XOR Faction and Alignment, XOR Victories and Goals in a single investigation.
Special: You may only choose one type of information to investigate for in one Night. Weigh your options carefully; there may be reasons for any choice. An example – while obviously you would like to find out a player’s Character Name and Role, this won’t guarantee all information you could guess about the player. It might be more important to know what faction someone is allied with, if a dangerous faction is powerful and you want to find a player from that faction to lynch, or what a player is really trying to do with their Victory Goals.

As always, feel free to ask me for clarification on anything in your role now or as the game progresses.

Victories and Goals: Stars and Stripes Forever (United States Innocent Victory)
-You achieve VICTORY if at least one Innocent survives and factions opposed to the United States are eliminated.
-You will achieve DECISIVE VICTORY on top of Innocent Victory if all hostile roles are exposed and eliminated.

The central prophet/scanner role. pevergreen maybe missed a few orders but still got some crucial info I think. The Torch was never used however, which was odd - and after he died it probably would have helped if someone actually was voted it and could continue to use it. The Torch was the only surefire way to actually see through a cover role with any investigative/other ability.

Also unfortunate that he really had nobody protecting him, would have been a very nice role to be protected by another player if possible.

Sommerswerd/Uncle Sam
Spoiler :
Welcome Sommerswerd to THOSE DARN STATES

This is your ROLE PM

You are Uncle Sam – embodiment of the American spirit. You are tirelessly loyal to your citizens and figure you’ll play an important role in leading them to victory.

Faction: United States (Innocent)
Strength: 2 (4)
Items: Stilts of Sovereignty - How would you celebrate the Fourth of July without them? This item provides a +2 STR bonus.
Abilities: I Want You – To Survive! Each Night, you may choose one player, including yourself, to provide absolute protection from killings, regardless of strength. If you protect another player, you yourself are not ensured protection by this ability should you be attacked separately.

Victories and Goals: Stars and Stripes Forever (United States Innocent Victory)
-You achieve VICTORY if at least one Innocent survives and factions opposed to the United States are eliminated.
-You will achieve DECISIVE VICTORY on top of Innocent Victory if a certain other national personification of your great country survives.
-You suffer DEFEAT if the United States faction is defeated. Your own survival is not particularly important.

Major protector role. He picked up later into the game with working well towards Innocent victory, though also became a target. There may have been some confusion and Sommerswerd's also a new player of course so I'm sorry for anything that would throw him off love of the game, but anyway I think things worked out all right.

His protection was mostly complete, however he spent the whole time protecting himself which kinda wasn't the intention of his role. Still, it worked as far as it could reasonably let be. He defended against a couple German and maybe a Japanese attack who couldn't touch him because he protected himself. However, the night he was killed he was attacked by three people; a Mafia who failed, then Love the spy killed and disguised as him, and fought the vigilante who came next. :D

Anyway the Innocents still pulled through though Lady Liberty was also lost. His Stilts like the Torch were an Artifact. Also, like Captain America's shield, they would have given +2 STR to any US Innocent but only +1 STR to others (this was never noticed, as it wasn't with the Shield either, which only went to atpg and love)

SS-18 ICBM/Chief Joseph
Spoiler :
Welcome SS-18 ICBM to THOSE DARN STATES

This is your ROLE PM

You are Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce, long time refugee but advocate of peaceful coexistance

Faction: Native Americans (Neutral)
Strength: 2 (2)
Items: None
Abilities: Eloquent Leader: Whenever it appears another person will be lynched, but the second-highest voted option is to abstain from a lynch entirely, you may choose to call off the lynch. PM me during the DAY to use this ability.
Fight No More Forever: One time during the game, if you are targeted by a lethal effect from a non-hostile faction-such as a United States Innocent, you are not killed and surrender instead (you survive).

-If the above victories is achieved and you personally succeed in calling off a lynch of another Innocent or Native American Neutral character, your victory is all the sweeter; this may result in achieving DECISIVE VICTORY.

Self-explanatory on the abilities now; the last Native American, rounding out 4 total in the final version of the game. Being able to surrender to avoid being killed by a vigilante or maybe even a lynch would have been nice had it happened; he also did prevent one lynch by rousing the rest of the town to save Love, though Love ultimately was not an Innocent. Thanks for the activity and enthusiasm for your first game!

Winston Hughes/Georgia O'Keefe
Spoiler :
Welcome Winston Hughes to THOSE DARN STATES

This is your ROLE PM

You are Georgia O’Keefe, American artist of beautiful landscapes and modernist abstractions.

Faction: United States (Innocent)
Strength: 1 (1)
Artifact: Enchanting Paintings: Too good for this world perhaps, but how could one abandon masterpieces! Somehow, these paintings seem to have become imbued with more than their natural elegance.
Abilities: Blank Canvas: Once during the game, you may publicly reveal your item, the Enchanting Paintings, to prevent a lynch entirely. PM me during the DAY to use this ability; the lynch will be called off regardless of any other situation.

Victories and Goals: Stars and Stripes Forever (United States Innocent Victory)
-You achieve VICTORY if at least one Innocent survives and factions opposed to the United States are eliminated.
-You achieve DECISIVE VICTORY if Innocent Victory is achieved and you survive with your artwork intact, or alternatively if you used the Paintings to prevent a lynch of another Innocent.

Winston had an artifact but no major strength and abilities, and I guess Mafia around here like to target him, so sorry for being killed so early. The Paintings were used up rather than saved after he died though overall it was a net Innocent benefit, even if not O'Keefe's personal goal preference.

Zack/Tennessee Williams

Spoiler :

This is your ROLE PM

You are Tennessee Williams, American playwright!

Faction: United States (Innocent)
Strength: 1 (1)
Items: None
Abilities: Depressing Tragedy – Each NIGHT, by your choice, the wails of a dozens of doomed characters target one other player, somewhat decreasing their Strength. This effect lasts into the next day.

Victories and Goals: Stars and Stripes Forever (United States Innocent Victory)
-You achieve VICTORY if at least one Innocent survives and factions opposed to the United States are eliminated.
-If use of your Depressing Tragedy ability helps in the elimination of a role hostile to the United States, on top of US Victory achieved, you attain DECISIVE VICTORY

Pretty straightforward, though he didn't use his ability to weaken anyone's Strength, which he could at will (it was temporary though, but still, could make a difference against Mafia).

More importantly, Zack didn't know about this - his "fake real role"
Spoiler :
You are really...

Hans Gruber – Supervillain, German terrorist, lover of wealth and Beethoven, and an ally of the German Axis
Strength: 5 (5)
Items: Stockpile of Gold – can be used to Bribe (certain) characters
Abilites: Ask for Miracles – can attempt to deactivate or destroy various technological and security devices.
Victories: Triumph of the Reich (German Axis)

Essentially Zack would be scanned as Mafia, by anything except use of the Torch. It turns out he was only ever scanned once which just led Diamondeye to doubt his own scan. Anyway it was rough overall but part of the balance around such abilities and he took it well of course, thanks for the sportmanship, and the Innocents still pulled through. I do think Hans Gruber would have made another good villain, the Germans already had their share of movie villains though.

TheForestAuro/Yossarian

Spoiler :

Welcome TheForestAuro to THOSE DARN STATES

This is your ROLE PM

You are Yossarian, a paranoid and self-interested bombardier haunted by traumas of the past.

Faction: United States (Innocent)
Strength 2 (2)
Items: None
Abilities: Snowdens of Yesteryear: You were once a different man than you are now, before being broken by the devastating burdens of this War. Now your paranoia and desire for your own survival are heightened in every moment of your life. Your sense of danger is so acute during the Day that once during the game you may resist a lynch, and are otherwise ready to escape danger.

Irving Washington: A habit developed of boredom, you’ve grown rather used to adding witty sayings to correspondences that cross your path. Each night you may choose whether you’d like to append any special meaning to the messages read in public in the morning. Effectively, you may choose to add a specific phrase into each Night update.
Special: You may only detail to me the contents of this message in advance. The message must be “in character,” a historical phrase, or something similar, it cannot be “I think X player is Y” or anything of that nature. You are FORBIDDEN from telling other players you are using this ability to send or have sent in the past any specific message. After all, you don’t want to get caught.

Victories and Goals: Stars and Stripes Forever (United States Innocent Victory)
-You achieve VICTORY if you survive to the end of the game. Otherwise you suffer DEFEAT.
-Additionally, you will achieve DECISIVE VICTORY if at least one Innocent survives and factions opposed to the United States are eliminated

TFA told me sometime midgame he'd been busy and that's all right, I thank him for playing anyway, but Yossarian's abilities and activity dropped off. Like Beefy he could send Washington Irving messages (sometimes a third was added for kicks, which would have been Orr's had Orr not been cut). Anyway his paranoia/desire to survive was key; he could have survived a lynch (and Kamikaze/other Day abilities) once though got killed at night anyway. If an opportunity to escape had been discovered he should have sought that out when he could midgame.

Please. I know we all indulged our primal urges with that frightful display of...emotion...but let's try to contain ourselves. First--where are we? And why are we here? What is happening? Let's try to figure out these basic questions first.

I don't know, maybe the town of Town, or the city of City?

What about the city of Townsville?

So the PowerPuff Girls are around?

Copypastaed from the other thread:
I'm going on a trip tomorrow afternoon/night so I won't be around for most of Friday.
there, so I won't be accused of lurking. Formally notified, you all are.
Yeap, that's right, might log in tomorrow morning-ish but then i'll get off and won't be back until the wee hours of Caturday. I'll probably sleeps like a log and get up late (Caturday night-ish).
Oh, can we mention Monty Python then? OK...
SPAAAMMM... WONDERFUL SPAAAMMM!!!

May as well get started then. TheForestAuro has yet to appear (and really, he's had forever to post. I mean, it's not like the thread opened half an hour ago :p) and who better than the honorable CCRunner to take the shield?

OK, WIFOM party!!!
I don't like bandwagonners, CCRunner.

Wait, Takhisis, you just said you don't like bandwagoners and CCRunner was the first person to vote for TFA, that don't make much sense to me. I'll probably join in calling out silents in a little while.

An antispamwagon? Now that's something I'll happily throw my weight behind.

If you'll offer a solid promise to keep your spamtastic ways in check, Takhisis, then I'll switch my vote. Otherwise, you're too big a distraction, and need a good lynchin'.

Oh, and I, Captain Winston, should receive the shield, for reasons I have yet to cobble together. :D

Takhisis for the anti-spam and anti-caturday.

I don't think anyone besides Takhisis actually enjoyed that stuff.

I, Askthepizzaguy, demand to carry the shield.
