This is plain stupid, why in all civ games a city needs food to grow, srsly how does New York reached 10 million people in real life and in my civ3 civ 4 games i reach maximum 4-5 million people the biggest city.

It makes good sense that a city needs food to grow. Real life New York wouldn't be so populous if it didn't import food. Before corporations that isn't possible in Civ, but if you get a good Sushi corporation, every city can grow very big, even cities without any real food of their own.

Not sure how much 4-5 million means in terms of actual city size, but with Sushi a city can get to 30+ size, which is pretty darn huge.

Biggest city in CIV was size 121 iirc and had more than 2 billion inhabitants. There was an extra thread about it, definitely interesting to read.

You'd be over the domination limit with only one city!

Domination also has a land requirement. Only having enough population doesn't trigger domination.

1. Play on a Duel Size Islands map.
2. Get Sushi.
3. Win by Domination with one city.

I'm sure it's possible with the right geographical make up, though some WorldBuilder help would surely help.
