Additional Civilizations (by DJSHenninger)

Hmm... UU's are a pretty big challenge for me right now. Perhaps "borrowing" a Bulgarian unit would be a reasonable thing, no?

As far as UB's go a Leader Statue or something would be interesting, Skopje has quite a few monuments and most of those are Statues of important people, which on the other hand could be used as Great People related UA.
They are even starting to consider wasting a lot of money to build more museums, monuments and statues right now, which caused quite a controversy.

Haha borrowing a Bulgarian unit is probably not a good idea. These are the suggestions I was given by the requester of the mod:

UU: 1) Komitadji / Komiti http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Komitadji
2) The Boatmen of Thessaloníki / Gemidzii http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boatmen...ssaloníki
3) Macedonian Scientific and Literary Society http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macedon...terary_Society
UB: Thallium Mine Thallium can be found only in Macedonia
The house of Robevci- typical Macedonian architecture http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Robevci_house.jpg

But I'm unsure about any of them. A last resort would be some kind of national wonder replacement. Just gonna have to dig deeper, I guess ;P Of couse, statues of great people aren't exactly unique, but almost no UB is truly unique :p

As for those UU's, I'd go for #1 or # 2
Not a fan of #3 personally.

And a mine is a horrible choice for a UB, since, well it isn't a building since a Mine is already found inside the game as a UI, even if it is a Thallium mine.

Either way, looking forward to the project.

Decided to go for #1 Komitadji. Do you know what the singular form is? (assuming this is the plural form :p)
I think the Kafeana, although a common building in all of the Balkans, is a decent building choice. At least "Kafeana" is the Macedonian spelling. Or I could go for Kale Fortress and turn it into some kind of National Wonder.

So.. Samuel turn out like this. I guess I could make a different version with the usual radiant rays if that looks better.

Spoiler :

And I chose red and orange as the color scheme. Don't know why :p I think red/yellow is too common.

Spoiler :

Any thoughts? :p

Looks good. I can't speak Macedonian but assuming that Komitadji is their spelling I'd guess that Komitadj is the singular form.

Kafeana could work if you want it, as you said though, it's not really unique, especially with Austria having the Coffee house as a UB.
The Icon is pretty good, and yes I agree Red-Yellow is too common.

Overall it's great!

DJSHenninger i thought you forgot my request so that's why i didn't write you anymore, i didn't want to bother you xD
You icon of Car Samoil is amazing, absolutely fascinating !!! Same goes for lion, even though i'm a bigger fan of our sun symbols :) Here are some other symbols that the Macedonians used:

Komitadji and i guess Komitadj , on macedonian is Komiti (plural) and Komita (singular)
Monuments : Makedonium http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_BeClJMs84...E/ovG2wlBNHpQ/s1600/1226_NpAdvSinglePhoto.jpg

Hey, thanks for your kind words. I could use a sun symbol, but I'm not sure if that's the right thing to do, since the use of a Macedonian sun isn't as old as the lion. Most of your building suggestions are 'singular', meaning that I can't turn them into something 'generic'. For example, it would be strange to be able to build the Millennium Cross in every city while there's actually only one.
The page of Plaošnik mentions that "the whole complex will have konaks (mansions) as in the time of Saint Clement of Ohrid, together with several surrounding objects." I looked up these 'konaks' and it mentions they are Ottoman, but in the time of Saint Clement there weren't any Ottomans yet. Do you happen to know more about these 'konaks'?
And thanks for the music suggestion.

Your Bosnia beats mine in terms of awesomeness by a long shot! Can I suggest an alternate colour scheme though? The colours are identical to Tomatekh's Kievan Rus.

Thanks xD Sure, what did you have in mind?

Finished a quick game as Croatia, amazing Civ, the UB is everything I ever wanted, and more. Had so much gold, I had no idea what to do with it .
Anyways, if you are looking for a different color scheme for Bosnia, how about the one in on my avatar?
Or maybe if you are desperate a reverse Croatia?

Thanks, I personally like Croatia as well :) What about making blue somewhat darker? I do want to keep the blue color, mainly because it matches Kulin's icon and overall appearance. The brown-yellowish color of your avatar looks a bit dull to me, but that's obivously just my opinion. I like the blue color, though :p

For my Bosnia I went with a dark blue-grey (pretty similar to the colour on COF's av) with yellow... So maybe the blue on COF's avatar with the current yellow?

The thing is that I took the colors from the Kotromanic Coat of arms.

Spoiler :

Perhaps it wasn't this exact image but still. Also, if you want to change the icon itself I'd recommend it, since Kulin Ban wasn't a part of the Kotromanic dynasty.
What I use for my avatar is the image of a man found on many Stecaks.
Spoiler :

Anyways, if you want to give it a shot the hex values in my avatar are:
Blue:2c4a7c
Gold:98774e

Yes, that's what I had in mind. That should do :)

Edit: Something like this?

Spoiler :

P.S. The Nabataean Kingdom seems like a good, solid civ :D Did you just change the trait? Could have sworn it was +2 food and +1 production. +1 food is more balanced, though. Especially when considering Flood Plains.

Yeah I know he wasn't part of that dynasty, but I think a civilization mod doesn't have to cover just one period. As long as it is Bosnian :p The above icon is probably too dark, considering that coat of arms.

As far as I know konaks/konak is a turkish word that means administration but at the same time it means villa. As u know there are a lot of turkish words in our language... so the word konak in our language means accommodation, a place where you can spend the night ... so many monasteries have "konaks", rooms where the visitors can stay. In the time of Saint Clement most of the konaks were small dark rooms where monks were living , a place where they were devoted to praying, translating the bible , doing spiritual things :/
Here are some pictures of monastery konaks

That's interesting. Not sure if I can use that, though. What can I do with monks in dark rooms? I shouldn't use it as some sort of villa too, as it is derived from the Turks.

HAHA, how come? What a coincidence! Simply marvelous. I totally didn't know about that picture :D No, I'm obviously joking, it IS that statue.
