LINESIII- Forth from the Light

Feddel Doren
Little is known about the childhood of Feddel Doren, as is the case with most Englorvelen persons of significance. What is known is that he was born in a township in the fiefdom of Wellsaria somewhere around 1396 by the Englorvelic calendar. He was witness to the Last War of the Fiefdoms, a large conflict occurring during his adolescence which likely he had the dubious honor of serving in. This may largely have shaped his efforts to unite the fiefdoms into one nation.

One would like to say that when he and his friends played war, he already showed a tactical aptitude at such an early age, but of course, we know little of his childhood. His parents, it is surmised, were disinterested in him and for intents and purposes here threw him to the wolves. Surmising this, many conclude that this led to a life of crime in the alleyways of his native city. Assuming he served in the Last War of the Fiefdoms for Wellsaria, it was ten years hence from that point that he began the Hundred Days War.

In 1430 by that same calendar, the Hundred Days War began with the death of the lord of Wellsaria, Aulston Goring. Taking this opportunity, Doren rushed in to fill the gap, gathering about himself influential merchants, and of course the priests of Maenoch's Order. Using these allies, he convinced the people to serve him, promising them wealth and power beyond the ken of mortal men should the fiefdoms be united in his name. Thousands ran to join the "Newlord's Army", creating a massive swarm of fighting men for the aspiring High-Thane to use against his enemies.

Gathering allies from the other fiefdoms, and powerful tacticians from his own, he cut a swathe through any nation of Englorvelic heritage that would not adknowledge him as its rightful ruler. The war was over in a hundred days, leading to its name. Several hundred thousand dead, the High-Thane planted his standard in the last resisting city that became the capital of the High-Thane's new kingdom, and began his rule.

You know, I don't even read your stories and I'm even starting to get annoyed just skimming them.

It's fine, Masada. Clearly the "nations" and "fiefs" he's talking about are about the size of a large field, given the territory he occupies. :p

Also, clearly he has hundreds of thousands of people, despite that being a more accurate number for the entire population of the cradle, if that.

This is bugging me no end, did you call it that because a day in the nes is eighty days in our time?

Typo, sorry, Oruc..

EDIT: Terribly sorry, I should have asked you before I tried to participate in the game. Alright, so, is it cool if I play the NES, Masada?

And yes, they are about the size of fields or cities. In Englorvelic terming, fiefdom is pretty much synonymous with city-state. Their society is on a much smaller scale, so terms are adjusted to compensate, and I am not using terms when according with size or population, but rather with political shape.

According to the Englorvelic calendar, there is the "Long Day", with approximately eighty days of sunlight, and the "Long Night", with approximately eighty nights of darkness encompassing the same period as a day. Thus, the Hundred Days War would last one season of darkness and a short period at the end with a period of light. A year is about eight Days, followed by eight Nights.

If people keep complaining just say its a myth or legend that is written in the future, like King Arthur. Other nesers have written stories from that perspective before.

That's exactly what it is. Most of the stories so far have been based on exaggerated, "mythical", accounts. Consider Englorvelic historians obsessive nationalists.

That's terribly presumptuous considering there are other forces at work in this world which probably have no intention of that culture being remembered in the future by... anybody.

Deal with it.

Ummm, no? But more seriously couldn't you know just try to be original or something? I'm not annoyed because your participating but because you seem to copy/paste the same meme again and again in just about every nes you play in. Even when its blatantly anachronistic and shows no awareness of the situation your in.

I've talked to Dachs about the current situation in Cambria, however, have you read the first story? I personally think the Englorvelen are different than what I've done in the past, and I plan to take them down a completely different path. (Cycle back two pages if you would, and read the description of the Priesthood of Maenoch, and the story about the Seventeenth Day Sacrifice)

Anachronistic, I'd disagree with, because in my opinion governmental and societal growth are entirely subjective, and do not follow some sort of structured path, as they do in the Civilization game series which is in my opinion a game element, not a reality. I'd tend to disagree with anyone who says otherwise.

Comrade Baal has after being lost in thought for a decade discovered that: the history of all hitherto existing society is the history of class struggles. Furthermore he has gone on to say that: The socialist system will eventually replace the capitalist system; this is an objective law independent of man's will. However much the reactionaries try to hold back the wheel of history, eventually revolution will take place and will inevitably triumph. We don't actually know what he's on about but we've decided to embrace it. Possibly because it brings with it Karalysia Class Socialist War Mecha...

HAIL TO THE PARTY, HAIL TO THE PROLETARIAT, DEATH TO THE ENEMIES OF COMMUNISM!

So that was a little random. In response to this, the High-Thane officially endorses the economic and societal system of capitalism. Let the money flow like the mighty river of our lands!

Adjurapathraqulanum Alliance
Cities: Vishakhqutnijerulam, Ralashumipathnam, Tuaviquliminam, Mumbakalanam.
Leader: Patelin/Espoir
Culture: An alliance of trading city states and their nearby agricultural lands. Diverse polytheists, with each city state having their own patron gods. Ethnic makeup is a constant admixture of various groups entering and exiting the trading region.
Government: Each city state is ruled by a petty king and his priest-aristocratic bureaucracy. The city states come together in loose association when external military threats threaten the welfare of the trading alliance.
Economy: 2- 2/0
Population: To be determined by me
Army: To be determined by me
Navy: To be determined by me
Technology: Based on the Alliance's mastery of bronze, which extend to all technologies from the agricultural to military.
Wonders:
Description: Racial mixture of disparate groups. An indeterminate brown skin tone in line with a real life mixture of Subcontinent Indian and Brazilian Mestizo would be a good approximite.

Put me at a trading juncture on a river near Lord of Elves.

The High-Thane is alarmed by the mass of discordant, confusing letters that have suddenly appeared on His map. What is this heresy against the Dark Master?

A non-European culture.

His Magnificence protests! He will concern himself first with making sense of the jumbled and confused words these people have used to name their locales before attempting to be culturally intolerant.

But enough spam! There are heretics to execute.

Its far less random that abjuring all common sense by declaring this:

Despite the reams of evidence that suggest otherwise. Anyway, YOUR WORD IS LAW. So I invented Communism entirely out of the void that is your mind.
