Europa Europa: European Empires Mod

Heh. I've had Bismarck turn Islam, but never Victoria. I guess your Catholicism wasn't strong enough starting in Austria?

Or was she at war and someone "forced" her to convert? Highly unlikely, however that may seem.

1145

I have made the big turn to Feudalism (F. Agriculture and Monarchy in civics).
I love these new civics! :)

I have seen two wars so far, one was btw Victoria and Bonaparte...
The other I forgot...
Not much results...

Belgrad on a hill and with walls: I could not capture it - Suleiman did...

Here is a map at the dawn of Feudalism, in 1145:

Sweet. Now I'm jealous that I'm at work....

V. Soma - Do you have the log changes mod or do you simply write everything down? I love the updates. How is everyone doing score wise? Any laggers? How is Italy doing?

I don't have the log mod - I have my brain cells memory
but perhaps I could give a try to that mod :)

Score:
I am waaay behind: next to last,
only Victoria is worse, she has 520 and I have 680
Leader is Suleiman with 920, followed by a tight group of
European powers ranging from 850 to 890...

With the Hungarian plains cities :) I am quite good in food,
and in money, too: with 100% science I manage a +26/turn gold.
(My catholic shrine gives 31/turn! - that's where my surplus comes from!)

Yet I think others might be just as rich or even better,
Demographics says I am only 5th in gold.
May this be because I spend money to upgrade my rather small military?

I have a dream to attack Germany,
but those cities are defended by 3-4 units... :(
and so far I could not develop an attacking force...

Take Italy! They have tons and tons of resources. In my Austrian game I expanded south to increase the conflict with Italy, otherwise I think Austria is in a bad way. Not enough hammer producing squares and resources.

England, Austria, and Sweden are always in the bottom 3 of my games. Not sure what could tweak them? Stone, marble?

Looking forward to playing this mod!

Wow, I have just converted a city in the Balkan from Suleiman in 1295!
My first ever such experience in civ 4! :)

No, I won't take Italy - I missed it when not taking the barbarian Venice :(
Italy now is strong in military.
Bismarck is the one I might take - later, maybe... he is getting behind in tech

I had Italy adopt Islam!!! The Pope is Muslim??? Playing as France and I've expanded to the traditonal borders. England tried to settle on the coast early in the game but both cities converted to me. I signed an open border agreement and moved units into their cities. I think this hurried the process. Just discovered gunpowder (I'm second with a score of 1050 with Italy in the lead with 1130) so it's time for a war.

Bugger, that's too bad. Good luck with Bismarck. Maybe all of your surplus gold will buy you some allies?

Well, first of all i captured Venice, founded 'Salzburg' north-west of Vienna, then colonized eastward Budapest, then ongoing the adriatic coastline south up to Tirana. Asap you have horse-archers Belgrade shouldn't be of a problem, but Turkey colonized Rumania and Poland Bulgaria/Sofia before i could send my settler.
It is, as for Austria, a quite historical showdown...except the turkish holy-war, but probably this could be done by events.
So far France is warmonger and has had war with Spain and dow's me now in ~ 1200AD to get Venice.

Hehh, I have real history happening...
Do you know what happened to Hungary in the 1400s...?

We had wars with the Ottomans
Yep, Suleiman took a "visit" for 150 years... in the 1500-1600s

Now this AI Suleiman attacked me in 1400, with a horde of units!
East of the Danube in the plains is his now :(

And just like in real history, nobody of the Europeans are to help me,
not even Sobieski...

- - -

in 1420, with a tech I can buy Sobieski and Bismarck to my side...
But the Ottomans are about to take another city in Hungary :(

Awesome V. Soma, historically anyways. ;)

So much for Bismarck, now you have a big battle!

OK, yes, a big battle, but it getting a bit tooo great... :(
Suleiman, well, I maybe could handle that, with much losses...

...But then Bonaparte smells blood and - yes - stabs me in the back!
Now THIS is gonna be my doom here...
I see his 11 (eleven) units coming from through Venice to me...

I will fight to my last man...

Wondering if...AG get this Mod MP-playable. Is this possible with the Civ engine?

Thanks for the commentary V. Soma. :goodjob:

It's making my day go much better at work, even though I'm jealous. :p

I fear for Austria though. Getting back-stabbed and hit from a second front is almost too much to handle...

I would assume if everyone had the same version and AG set it up for MP it would be simple. I've yet to do multi, but a lot of other mods are doing it in Civ4.

1465

So far I have survived...

In the east, the tide has turned, thanks to the Polish forces...
Sobieski has captured back my Debrecen and is now under Belgrad and
the whole Balkan, it seems...

Napoleon razed my small Triest but could not get further!
Near Vienna in at the Adriatic I dissolved his big army and
I also could save Salzburg in the west.

Now I see I might take a hold
and get to settle peace - I hope...

All this results in a setback in economy and tech development...
And I have to found new cities...

But hey, I am still alive! :)
